Two things I notice This is exactly how I wish they had approached Kingdom Cheetors legs (transformation wise). What they did is a cheap abomination. And Tigatron suffers the same fate only for the sake of similarity This Cheetor, even though undoubtedly the mainline version, already has fur detailing. I wonder why mainline Airazor doesn't have organic feather detailing (the SS version does)
The mainline Airazor has organic feather detailing and somehow seems to be more accurate to the final design wing wise than the SS toy.
Whether they ultimately wind up accurate or not, mainline Airazor and Cheetor look like fun figures on top of being good looking too. I think that's enough for me to scoop them up regardless of whether I care about the actual film.
I can't get over his frikkin' bronze pants, why's he got those? If you somehow remove them does he have just plain cheetah thighs beneath them??
It's supposed to represent mechanical parts being visible after parts of the organic beast mode have deteriorated over time
You know what that might be it. I thought it was just plain and simple it’s that way because they wanted his thighs to be brown but that does make sense.
Most likely not. If even the shins were painted yellow, (or, more preferably, the legs cast in yellow and the shins painted bronze) I don't think it would look so weird. It's just strange that they made such a large, prominent aspect one solid colour on a toy where bronze otherwise appears only as an accent.
Oh, so that's what it's meant to evoke? Man.. surely there was a better way to achieve that without slapping bronze covers over the thighs (rather than underneath the furry exterior like what it was seemingly meant to be).
Agreed I don’t see it coming off. They don’t bug me but I do feel yeah just having this big portion of the leg be brown just feel weird.
It's definitely a guess on my part, but given the movie designs have the organics wearing away with robotic bits peeking through, it wouldn't surprise me at all it it was the intention
Definitely could be, or just that for some reason they made only the thighs the only parts only brown. I feel like even it was yellow it would still look okay like it is in the final design.
So everyone keeps saying Cheetor has brown pants. But the brown only comes up to his knees in robot mode, which means he is actually wearing brown knee socks with holes cut away for his feet. I hope you can never unsee this.
This thing with there being two sets of ROTB figures, one mainline based off concept art, and the other Studio Series got me thinking. I wouldn't mind too much if we just didn't have live action movies for a while, and to fill the void Hasbro did a toyline of in-house designs with the Bumblebee 2018 aesthetic and licensed alt modes when possible. They'd still redesign the characters a bit so they wouldn't look just like the Generations figures, throw in the occasional new weapon/ robot details/vehicle modes but never change them to the extent of being unrecognizable.
