I like the the toy overall. The head sculpts for robot and alt mode look great. I wish the colors were less Beast Wars and more movie with darker almost rusty earth tones for the cheetah parts.
I'll admit it, now that I've seen the robot-mode there is a reasonable amount of difference, all things considered. It def uses similar engineering, but with it's own little twist.
Remember, this is the mainline deluxe figure more suited for kids. This and Airazor seem much more smooth and simple for a kid to mess with. Cheetor's gonna be getting a voyager in SS anyways, and that will be much more closer to the actual movie design and color and scale.
Yeah, was going to say this was too small for the voyager. Though it looks like no waist swivel, which is dumb. But overall look is definitely better than the Kingdom version, in both modes.
Don't want to think the worst and Voyager Cheetor has been moved to wave 2 making Battletrap the only new Voyager in that wave.
To the people talking about how much better this looks than the Kingdom figure, I invite you to take a look at the exposed hands in the cheetah form. That's not even getting into how thick his robot torso looks, though that might just be how the concept art this was based on looked.
Ok so this is the mainline Cheetor, alright that makes a bit more sense. Figured it was too clean & vibrant for a movie design. Hopefully the Studio Series figure will be a lot better. Also wasn't Studio Series Cheetor supposed to be a voyager?
I love beasts, and was looking forward to this line of figures, but not if they are retools of the Kingdom molds. Even if the are extensive retools. Just not interested.
Ultimately, I don’t need to worry about which version is better as I’m very excited to own both. But I’d rather have the exposed hands than Kingdom’s robot torso and lower legs.
Wow this actually looks really good. Head is a touch stylized for my taste but I dare say this looks better than the Kingdom figure. When RID and Armada hit I was glad to see the beasts finally go away. Now here I am I can’t believe I am excited about BW toys again.
Gut gun looks to be bloosh compatible. May opt in for a second one and use it for Kingdom Cheetor. Also, what are the chances the Predacons get mainline toys at some point but not SS?
My favorite figures from Armada are the Beast Wars repaints, and yet I was never the biggest Beast Wars fans(was born during BW and didn’t learn about the franchise till Armada) and the Armada Beast weren’t even in the show! But somehow I love them. And even though I was never big into Beast Wars(but I watched it and respect it), I am super stoked for this movie. Especially Cheetor. As a matter of fact, the way I learned Beast Wars existed was because I got the 10th anniversary Cheetor when I was 8, and I would watch the single episode disk it came with and the few episode that were in the Transformers website at the time. Now that I think about it, I guess I am just nostalgic for Cheetor because I had him as a kid.
i am begging all people to learn to pose Kingdom Cheetor correctly in cheetah mode don't break his knees and as a fun bonus to not breaking his knees, if you pose his hindlegs correctly, it solves that gap in his crotch.
I can't hardly see it, blinded by butt hurt, thus they know how to render stuff faithfully, but when it comes to Wheeljack they go full Baylenzo. ....Never go full Baylenzo.
I mean, the hands on Kingdom may not be "exposed," but it's still obvious he's got robot arms that end on a hard corner underneath. Plus they're not exactly jumping out on the ROTB toy. They're a dark colour and tucked away, plus the inorganic nature of the beast mode makes them even less obvious.
