A bit of interesting news. The same company that made the KO Figuarts Saiyan Arc Vegeta seems to be tackling the Ronins or at least Ryo. Should be interesting to see how he turns out as they did a good job with Vegeta. Perhaps they won't suffer from the cracked thighs like the official release.

here are pics of the DATONG bootleg Ryou, they look pretty good, I might just get one for spare parts. I might even do a comparison Review video.. but at $75 these better be really good...

BTW, if anyone can get a hold of the manufacturer (i've tried emailing some sellers but come up with nothing) ask about selling just the spare hip joints. it would be nice to have them in diecast as well.... man the possibilities...

I'm thinking about jumping onto this line, but all these reports about breaking joints is making me think otherwise. Can I get you guys' advice?

That KO figure looks good too, maybe I should wait to hear more about it?

I did, and absolutely nothing was said when someone else asked for details (assuming it was that service on ebay).

On another note (which probably nobody will answer), where can I go to find out more about the KO figure (in english)? It really looks well-done.

I made a video on YouTube that addresses a method on how to use vasseline to prevent leg breaks 4 or 5 pages back a forum member linked the video....

I use google to find all datong info, I suggest you do the same or just wait.

Nobody replies because the line is assumed to be finished for a while, but I am still holding out hope as it took them a whole year just to release kongo no shu

I put each figure on a Tamashii Stage 5 stand. The stands support the figure to keep weight off of the hips. I haven't had any breaks so far, but I don't claim it's a 100% solution, but works for me.

I'm interested to see how the KOs turn out. I might get a set just to have a backup/bang around set.

I apologize for the douchey nature of my post, it's a little frustrating asking a question (many times on an active board), only for it to go unanswered, but I suppose there's no helping that.

Your method looks useful, but I would like something a little more permanent--plus I find myself losing dexterity lately.

I kept them all on stands too, and the hips still ended up breaking. So while I think it helps, it doesn't get rid of the problem entirely anyways.

Unfortunately, I'm sure that will end of happening to me as well :(  At least it's staved breakage for now. It's odd that you don't see this hip issue with Bandai's Saint Seiya Myth Cloth line over it's multi-year run. I wonder why Bandai would mess with success?

It's all because some idiot in the r&d decided to make a really thin two part molded joint. You can see the line in the middle of the joint... Has anyone tried contacting datong? I'm going to see if I can contact some bandai Japan/ tamashii nations Japan customer service about the hip issue, it's really annoying for such expensive "exclusive" figures.

I am getting so sick and tired of reporting this, but once again the hip breakage curse has struck again. This time it was Cye who suffered a left-leg break. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first time a Cye figure broke? Also, I discovered poor Kento is developing a left-leg crack as well, but it hasn't gone through to affect the leg just yet. With all this, I'm going to bite the bullet and get resin hips for all the guys, and if the Warlords are ever announced I'll be instantly getting resin hips for them as well.

Bummer! Let us know how the replacement hips work out. I'm still looking for info on the Datong KOs. That might be a route to have "spare" figures.
