...who? Seriously... I have never heard of this character before, ever.

Also, even if it isn't Daredevil now, chances are it's going to be Daredevil later.

    SPOILER:

Echo was a character who appeared in DAREDEVIL.... I think it was in the issues written by David Mack. But yes, this is very, very, very, very anticlimatic. Especially since they hyped up the character around the end of Avengers Disassembled and never got around to revealing the ID until NOW.

Also, read up this message to see what the Ronin's been up to before then. Obviously, if you don't want to be spoiled on Ronin's ID, don't click on the link.

I could be wrong, but I'm definitely smelling a double-fake at the least for two reasons.

    1. This is New Avengers, not the Brian Michael Bendis variety hour. They've been hyping this character like it's the return of some huge A-lister. Especially based on that link, she's third tier at most and that's being modest. All she's been in were 2 story-arcs of Daredevil, there's no way they would hype the character in such a way if it was such a minor character.

    2. They've been hyping the character since the Quesada cover of New Avengers 1 came out. Would they then allow a guide book to completely blow the identity before it's revealed in the comic? I mean, maybe it's been done before, but it just seems like a terrible move. Unless it was something you wanted to leak out, like if it was Hawkeye or something.

So I'm thinking at the most they're going to say it's her, have that stick for a few months, and then reveal that it's really Daredevil once all of the stuff Murdock is being a wuss and not joining the new Avengers over calms down, and Cap is going to be like "Yea, right, like I'd let HER be an avenger."

I don't trust it for 1 reason. She can't hear yet was having a conversation in a previous issue. But it makes sense because Matt was tlaking to a woman before th eevents unfolded.

I actually like this idea. I read the intro issue of
, and thought they had potential. combine that with the fact Bendis tends to make lesser known characters popular.... *coughSpiderwomancough*

It might be Taskmaster. Ronin has the exact same power. That would be far more interesting, seeing as how he was one of their tougher enemies.

This is marvel we're talking about here. They're notorious for hoaxes. Remember the "Spiderman is a mutant and joins the Xmen" miniseries hoax from a few years back? "Leaked" pics should be taken with a grain of salt. Hell! Around April, official pics should be taken with a grain of salt.

Spider-Woman isn't THAT obscure. She even had her own cartoon in the 80's.

I'm in the air. Hate the fact that it's her because I dispise Mack. But on the other hand, what the hell. It might work.
