Can Ultra Magnus send this memo to Paramount?
And look where that thinking got him possibly dead and the creation of organizations like the Galactic Council and Black Block Consortia.
Man,this Magnus is such a complete maniac, I love it
I'm now wondering how freaked out Bee and everyone is the moment Minimus takes over and he acts differently
that had to have been one of the most jarring few weeks ever as they got used to it
Huh? I thought the "mini-con" was called Sky Blast.
Same goes for ROM. I feel the pacing of his comic really got better once Orphion and Livia made Earth-fall and since they've gone and started fighting Wraiths outside America. In Shining Armor right now I'm loving seeing the Space Knights still operating within the range of the Solstar Order.
Something an organic would say...
And I would be right.
I wonder which Ultra Magnus this is...
Well we gotta look at what we know:
-There have been five named bearers of the Magnus Armour. Blockus, Datum, Minimus, Ramp, and Suture. But it has been implied that there were more bearers.
-There have been Magnuses that have died during Hell's Point, Clemency, the Simanzi Massacre, and the Fast Folding Sun.
-The first Magnus was Suture.
-Datum died at Hell's Point.
-Minimus is the current Magnus.
So the Magnus of Rom vs. Transformers COULD be either Blockus or Ramp.
Nice work living up to your display pic!
The Ultra Magnus on post for the longest time has only worked for about 180 years? We're talking about tens of thousands of loadbearers?
it seems clear that this is a gentle retcon, which is helped by the fact that it only contradicts one statement from one character in one prose story
I've forgotten where this info came about - its not the impression I've got from the books at all.. which issues does it say the longest serving magnus was less than 200 years in post?
I always thought that Minimus was just the latest of a fairly small number of bots, who became a Magnus.
Is this referring to Ratchets statement to Minimus? I may be mis-remembering, but didn't he say that he thought of Minimus as the DEFINITIVE Ultra Magnus? Not necessarily the longest serving, but the closest to the ideal?
If Ultra Magnus managed to become a Legend in his own lifetime, likely lasting looong into the War - enough to warrant the necessity of the 'eternal policeman' armour and concept, and scare the crap out of any wayward bot.. I woukd find it unlikely there were many bots that had the capability to loadbare the armour, much less uphold the ideals of the character himself. This isnt just any old bot, this is ULTRA MAGNUS.
Also, i strongly suspect that Ratchet was trying to lift Minimus' spirits too.
To follow up on NoiseMaker's post, Ratchet's says he knew of all the Magnus's but that he knew Minimus the longest. While some might see that terminology as tenure - it can instead also mean that Minimus is the one that he had the most personal interaction with. As seen even with the early Minimus appearances, a lot of Magnus's time is spend alone hunting down criminals.
Additionally, we don't know how quickly Tyrest actually was able to replace Magnus's. We know a Magnus died 4 million years ago at Hell's Point, then 3 million years ago, another died at clemency. The question can be... how often were there hundred thousand year gaps between Tyrest finding a load bearer to become Magnus - and especially during the war, did they maybe only bring him out when it was absolutely neccessary for morale.
In "The sound of breaking glass", MTMTE #21's prose story.
Ah right... thought that was the case; just re-downloaded the issue on comixology, the actual words in the page were:
'I've known you longer than any of your predecessors, and maybe thats why to me-and I know this sounds strange-you're the true Ultra Magnus.'
Ratchet previously only mentions the predecessors as:
'Suture, datum, ramp, blockus-all the way back to the original'
As Geox82 says.. its most likely not length of time being magnus, but personal interaction. Yeah sure ok, he's probably patched them all up at some point.. but thst doesn't mean hes known them on a more personal level.
Id also think that we have most of the names, maybe missing a few, but not more than 50% id guess.
Anyways... Milne's art! I have missed soooo much! Starscream Ramjet and Thrust make an awesome looking team of seekers..
Mindset said pretty much the same thing in the Marvel G2 comics.
Damn this was a good issue. Proper way to do a crossover. Dialogue was punchy, art was great. As someone mentioned in issue 1, it's good to see Starscream in his old self again. Perhaps Barber should write more space opera stories?
Glad you liked it. I agree, there should be more stories like this
I love this short series. I do love Stardrive.
I love those seeker and conehead designs in this issue. Milne's work is amazing.
