TF5 Wishlist (Rodimus Prime debut) With the 4th movie done, will Hot Rod make his debut and become Rodimus Prime? It would be nice for him to be the son of Optimus & Elita-1.
That would make an interesting back story for OP since he has takin in bumble bee like a son. but wont that make him look like a dead beat dad since he hasnt been around?
It would be nice for Hot Rod to appear and Bumblebee to be turned into Goldbug at the same time. They can treat each other like brothers. And if Kup appeared, he'd be like a mentor.
There is no indication they'll bring Hot Rod into the fold. Keep in mind that the stories and characters have to go through corporate focus group testing. I know it sounds cynical but I think Hasbro and Paramount seem to do marketing analysis on what works and what doesn't with story and characters.
It seems to me that both TransPrime and Bayverse are building up Bee as a succesor to Optimus. I also dont see them changing his name. Bumblebee is firmly associated with the character. Its also associated with the Camaro. People see that car and think Bee. The name brings money.
I love me some Hot Rod, but no to the whole fan-fic idea of Transformers having traditional human family units made of a mommy, a daddy and kids. Transformers should not reproduce sexually. Besides, Elita's dead, isn't she?
Optimus can still appear. But what of Bumblebee & Hot Rod as brothers? If Bumblebee goes into Goldbug will Hot Rod become Rodimus with Optimus & Kup mentoring him? Not for Hot Rod to be Optimus' son anyway.
I think it's all leading to Rodimus. Honestly with Optimus going after the Quintessons, and Galvatron already being introduced.. It's hard to not see Rodimus and Magnus stepping in for at least the first half of the next film.. I don't think bumblebee will in anyway be the leader.. They made that clear this film.. That he was ineffective as a leader.. Besides he's the human focus... I honestly can see Rodimus being able to step in this time without the backlash that occurred in the 80s..
