I'm going to have to go with Alternators Hot Rod. That SDCC exclusive is sharp. I like that it has the flames unlike the KISS Players version (still missing the fishing pole though). I like Classics Roddy, but not quite as much as the Alternators version. The G1 is nice when I'm feeling nostalgic. Despise the animated aesthetic, so animated Roddy will never be high on my list. Titanium is nice, but it's more of a Rodimus Prime figure. Doesn't really belong in this conversation IMO.

I actually dig the Micromaster Hot Rodimus that came with Star Convoy. It's everything you like about the original Hot Rod, but now he's bite-sized!

Of the ones pictured, I really like the Classics and Titanium updates. Interesting transformations and some cool sculpts on both of them. Hot Rod still looks a souped-up speedster and Rodimus looks like he could beat the crap out of anything.

I'll go ahead and throw down a list with some explanation.

    1. Classics.
Great toy. Absolutely a near-perfect update to the original. Only shame is that you don't have (or didn't use) the Henkei release.

    2. G1
It's G1. "But you only like it for its nostalgia factor." No crap. That's why I like Transformers to begin with.

    3. Animated
Honestly, this kind of gets the default because of my distaste for the remaining two. I'm sure it's not a bad toy, I just don't own it myself. I'm just not much a fan of Animated.

    4. Alternator
Never cared for the line myself, but it seemed to hold up much better than Titaniums.

    5. Titanium
It isn't much of a assume that this is the worst toy out of the bunch. May be a decent representation of Rodimus Prime, but there isn't a whole lot to do with the figure after you get past that.

    my favorite: animated
    2nd favorite: alternator

least favorite:classics, he's just not very good. The transformation is fine, but the proportions are wacky and he doesn't fit in with classics/ universe at all because of it (imo). I want a new one with the same sort of design choices as cyclonus. I also dislike the window shape on the alt mode. The toy will probably be fine once the FP upgrade is released though so whatever.

Animated Rodimus is my favourite, followed by Alt/Kissplay (neither really surpases the other, they're both cool) then Classics, then everyone else.

I'm not a super big Hot Rod/Rodimus fan, but I do like his toys.

cybertron clocker's pipes fit on his arms, looks good

my favorite right now is Alt out of those ones, then Classics, but not having animated rodimus right now makes it not a true comparison

    Going to go with:

    1. space held for MP toy (you know it will be one of the very best versions)

    2. BT- Not particularly faithful to original, but one of the very best toys produced. The arm blaster (which was a fishing pole once for about 5 minutes) is a wonderful touch.

    3. May go to animated (but I don't have one yet, so we'll see)

    4. G1- Yes it's a brick, but it's a great looking brick. He only has one pose- but it's a good pose.

    5. Henkei- I LOVE the car update- the robot is kind of a mess. Bad head sculpt, speed fin is not very visible in bot mode, just an awkward, chunky body.

    6. Titanium- did they ever make a good titanium figure? I know there are ones better than him, but it was kind of a troubled line from the start.
