There's been a lot of doomsaying about the fate of RiD recently, offset by a tweet from storyboard artist Kirk Van Wormer saying he was starting work on "season 4." Well, TFormers have an interview with Ben Montano and John Warden from Hasbro that at about 10:30, confirms RiD is far from deceased, with a third season due this fall.

After Cartoon Network's recent reshuffling of Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa (which involved dividing the 52 episodes that were supposed to make up their second seasons into second and THIRD seasons of 26 episodes apiece), it seems likely this might've been what happened with RiD season 2, dividing 26 episodes into two groups of 13. Wormer's tweet, then, would suggest that at least a fourth season of 13 is planned for 2017 as well.

 

Well that's good to hear. If the series ends around season 3 and with it's movie hopefully it'll resolve everything and end it where it needs to be instead of being cut short. So far RID15's been lucky to avoid premature cancelation and I hope it continues it.

 

Yes! Oh please tell me we are getting season three I love this series so much I don't like it ending so earlier otherwise.

Uh, no, that's exactly the thing I was talking about. Uncle Grandpa was picked up for a third season, but then the 104 episodes from its second and third seasons were subdivided into 26-episode groups to make second, third, fourth, and fifth seasons. If RID has a third and fourth season coming, then they're *still coming* - they'll just be 13 episode seasons, not 26 episodes.

Yes! I'm glad to hear that since I was hoping they would continue because two seasons just seems too short.

Well, that would explain the "13 episode" season, which always struck me as a very weird number. I wonder, then, if "Season 2" will actually have a finale, seeing as it started out (conceptually) as the middle of Season 2, not the end of it.
