I have a concern. In terms of title, how will this series differentiate from the 2001 version?

 

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought of Invaders Must Die!

 

Oh god. I can't stand the animations. Especially Bumblebee running.

 

I'm going to second this... The stills look great, but I would love to see he actual video. Just the name of a channel that has an upload of it would be great.

 

Ha, I was just going to post this. It's such a blatant rip-off I was laughing. How cheap are they going with this series? The animation is even a choppier, more jank looking version of Tron: Uprising (but with atrocious bot designs).

 

Well, the animation doesn't look all that shitty after all. Still will need to see a few episodes before I'm convinced though.

 

Hopefully the show isn't as choppy as the clip. I can't say that I love the art style right off, but as long as the characters are interesting and the stories are good I think it will grow on me.

Looks cool. I enjoyed the Cybertron-esque transformation sequence for Sideswipe, and I hope that it is a staple of the series.

 

I'm already not liking this show. I want Knockout! Not some cheap ripoff with the name Sideswipe!

 

Looks fun for kids. And that's fine with me.

 

Knockout would be cool or an actual Sideswipe, either way. Instead we get this Bieberbot looking thing!

 

I'm looking forward to watching it. Always been a fan of BB and Sideswipe. Isn't there supposed to be a female bot on the team though? Didn't see her in the preview.

 

She's the blue and white one. She's named Strongarm.

 

The animation is a real turn off for me and the show doesn't seem like a sequel to TFP witch pisses me off!

IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT IT IS IN CONTINUITY WITH PRIME!

Cybetron is shown as being restored, Optimus as a ghost, and we got confirmation that the TFP cast will be making an appearance in RID's second season.

 

Seriously; I highly doubt this will be better than Prime unless you are a kid.

 

Any Transformers without Prime being the leader was a failure.

 

The conflation of Bumblebee, the smartass little brother with an unmatched sense of idealism and optimism, and a true adoration for the larger bots, with the whole Hot Rod/Rodimus/Hot Shot "Impetuous, hot headed teenager with a grand destiny" schtick, has always seemed a bit... Strange to me?

Now, you all know me, and you all know how much I like to blame everything on Michael Bay, but I actually think this started with Hot Shot, because... Well, he's literally Hot Rod and Bumblebee jammed into one character. He has Bumblebee's colors and "Aw..." factor, with Hot Rod's alternate mode, and a personality somewhere in between the two. But then in the '07 movie, they had that hybrid again, but (I'm assuming because they didn't know Hot Shot existed) called it "Bumblebee".

The hybrid appeared again under that name (making him the new standard for Bumblebees, I guess) in Prime, this time made a touch more Bumblebee esque by returning him to his roots as a Scout. And then he pretty much became a non-entity in the show, compounded by having his bit stolen (and done better) by Smokescreen, who was pretty much straight up Hot Rod. Then, suddenly, the show ends with Smokescreen pushed aside, to pay off a story totally not set up, and making Bumblebee the leader and giving him his voice back.

... Yay?

So, right off the bat, this new series' premise is dubious. I don't like Hot Bee Rod Shot, and they went ahead and made him the main character. Then there's the whole morphing from one mode to the next thing, which has always pissed me off in Bayverse and Aligned, plus the entire Aligned curvy, human-wearing-armor-and-wheels aesthetic is just not my thing, and combine that with Sideswipe's "hair" and just... Ugh. I'll see it. It will be a Transformers show after all... And unlike a lot of people I don't hate Prime (it's a pretty standard kids' show that didn't know if it wanted to be a cartoon or an Animated Series, and wasn't sure how to do either to great affect), so there's nothing to make me instantly hate this.

But it is dubious.

And also OH MY GOD that Optimus figure is SO sexy.
