Sounds like a good cast, but I'm rather irked by the fact that Drift's minions are named Jetstorm and especially Slipstream, these are so obviously jet names. I know I should be used to these kind of name slaps by now, even in aligned, but it still annoys me in this case. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be great characters, so I'll just have to suspend my disbelief and enjoy them.

Every time I see anything relating to the new show, the first thing I think of is "why is everyone getting excited about the Car Robots dub all of a sudden"

 

Bauza has been wanting to voice Drift since Animated, glad he's got his wish. Also yessss for David Kaye being back. Surprised to hear the names Jetstorm and Slipstream being used for Drift's Minicons, as I'm used to purple Seeker Slipstream.

 

Sounds like a pretty good cast so far.

Nice cast list. I'm liking what I see (at least for the names I recognise, anyway). I AM confused, however, about who is voicing Grimlock. I thought Ted McGinley was confirmed for Grimlock? What happened to that?

He's dead. What the hell do you expect? I for one am glad that there are only three episodes with him so far.

 

We knew that Grimlock was going to be on the show, and that McGinley was going to voice an unknown character, and some people theorised that he'd be Grimlock. We were never actually told McGinley was Grimlock by an official source.

 

Fair enough then. I just heard a lot of people saying that he was voicing Grimlock. I guess it was just misinformation that spread like wildfire. Oh well.

Regardless, I'm not really liking what I've heard of Grimlock so far, but I'm hoping he's better when I watch the actual show. It seems like they just turned him into a heavyweight bruiser. I didn't necessarily want another G1 rehash, but.... I'm not sure that I like how he's turned out. Hopefully I end up liking him more when the show is actually out (and seriously, I wish it was out already, because waiting until February when China has already seen half the damn show is ridiculous).

Though I'm a bit bummed at the use of the name 'Slipstream' for Drift's Mini-Con, given how much that character's grown as the female Seeker.

 

He has? I didn't know that, that's actually pretty cool that he finally gets to do the role he wanted. When did he say that, if you don't mind my asking? Otherwise yes, more David Kaye is always cool.

I was initially mad at Slipstream being used as a nameslap for the Minicon guy, but I guess if they want to use the original female Seeker, they can always call her "Slipstrike" after her Kreon toy.
