that character model is fan-coloured not official and misses the white button and shins. The blue isn’t really the correct shade either. White button and shins are technically correct.

But we can all find 1000 photos of him with blue legs so... not sure why one would outweigh the other.
I personally just think the blue is more fitting aesthetically.

Quick Google images search only yields fan images with blue legs, all cartoon versions have white, including the Movie.

Bear in mind I said earlier that I "remember him" with blue legs... clearly I don't but think I do!

For what it's worth, the new RED series version appears to have gone for blue legs

 

Yeah in terms of the cartoon, blue shins was a very rare animation error if at all. White shins are technically the correct colour, regardless of X number of animation-error screenshots or fan-coloured character models with blue.

For me FT should make them white but they've made a couple of colour choices on figures lately that I've not been a fan of so it wouldn't surprise me if they went with blue.

 

Well you'd hope that since Dilianjj is active in these threads he'd take note of stuff like this and feed back. It's such an easy win to get the colours right.

Edit: Just noticed the extra posts about Soundwave's different colours throughout seasons, and the extra prototype images in the first post. So... I guess this is another potential outcome...

The pics showing the evolution of his early design genuinely makes me think that at some point an art-director said “paint those shins white will ya” and the artist literally just stuck a square of white paper over them.

 

I think it looks so jarring because they kept the white section the same width but narrowed the knees loads. Gives us that 'stuck on' effect.

 

This Soundwave looks amazing so do all the cassettes.
When can we expect his arrival, or is there no definitive timeline for this guy?
