To put it simply, Acoustic Wave is the embodiment of what I want from an MP and why I even collect MPs at all. I wish all MPs had this combination of cleanliness, toon styling, sturdiness, lack of QC issues and blemishes in general, and being reasonably satisfying to handle and transform.

As for Fibrir, I dig him. While his arm articulation is definitely pretty bad, I love the way he looks and feels and scales. And as far as I'm concerned, a cassette-bot that can't fit inside Soundwave or Blaster is worthless. So this is the definitive Frenzy in my book.

Also I love that he came with extra faces, as it means I can give him and Rumble different expressions. It's hard to go back to CHUG repaints now, as it's kind of awkward to have them all with identical expressions. Differing facial expressions makes the idea of repaints being separate individuals feel much more real.

I love these. See my current desk bots below

I too love acoustic wave and was surprised I do because in hand I really changed my opinion. I also have to shout out DS starscream. I love that toy. So much character and better in bot look in my opinion then mp-52.

THF Soundwave is the best. That's the consensus around here.

I agree with most of this, but that is also the reason I don't have or want the guy. I have the THF Soundwave and he's already 90-99% perfect to me. I would have went with AW, if he could fit the G1 and MP tapes. Since he can't, I'm keeping my MP13 KO and painting him up to look like the standard AW. Because not fitting the tapes is a deal breaker for me, and I want to continue to use some of the tapes I already own. That being said, I do plan on getting Rumble, Frenzy and Ravage from RP, since they do fit in my Soundwave's chest. Buzzsaw and Laserbeak I think are already perfect MPs. For now, the G1 and/or TT MP versions of Soundwave's minions I didn't mention are good enough. If RP ends up making better Ratbat and beyond, I'll probably get those too.

You joke, but I do think he's very close to perfect. Just a new paint job and slight redeco to match the cartoon, and he'd be perfect to me.

TT scale chart be damned, this, this, this......... is the right scale when I picture these characters in my head.

I get it, the scale chart is there for TT to have something to adhere to. I mean to someone else this isn't the perfect scale in their mind, blah, blah, blah. But there is no denying that in the toon for the most part this the height these characters seemed to be relative to Megatron and this is coming from a guy that adores the MP-52 mold....just saying.

It just seems kinda strange that TT would use this arbitrary chart that probably 95% of people that grew up watching the toon wouldn't know a thing about unless they perused these threads like us, but it is what it is, end of rant.

*SALE POST - 3D parts here:
Robot Paradise RP-01/01B Acoustic Wave (Formerly FansToys FT-02) G1 Soundwave & Cassette

    +VIDEO DEMO UPDATE

    Extended Neck:
Allows side to side and down head articulation

    Knee Gap fillers:
Design “A” and “B” (two mounting methods types). Each have their pro/cons.
-“A” is Back mounted - limits the knee bend but allows for the knee cap to remain flush
-“B” is front/top mounted - maintains full knee bend but b/c of the "ring" that it attaches too...it pushed the knee cap 1/32" out
    -both provide the same filler
-both are non-transformable.....will need to remove for transformation.

    Knee Gap Fillers: Removal

*Knee Gap Filler “B” removal - further instructions below.
    Also shown in video.

Note there is a “left” and “right” and “removal side”. The removal side is b/c it’s the side that has the most space for a clearance for ease of removal which you need a spudger (as shown in video). Hence why there is a “left” and “right” side.

With a spudger, gentle left the lower corner of the “split ring” (on the removal side) to left over the metal tab to remove (as shown in video)

    Knee Cap Extenders:
-for more of the toy look which has the knee caps extended further out and not flushed with the upper leg like the cartoon
-works with either knee gap fillers type

    Chest frame cover:
-pressure fit onto the the existing chest frame

    Square and tapered edge design.

Alright so I ended up buying him from ToyDojo for 260, no taxes or shipping fees at all so the cheapest I could get him. Definitely a bit more than I wanted to spend but man Soundwave is a top 5 bot for me and I just couldn’t pass him by. He is going to looks so good next to my MMC cassette bots.

I have posted a couple of times here to let go my preorder with TCP at $250 shipped but nobody took it and the invoice expires. I guess $10 doesn't help too much though.

And to the main point, those MMC cassette bots are just beautiful!!!! I can't wait for the auotbot cassettes.

Are you going to provide options for the fillers or you will decide one and make it mass production? Personally I like the "Right" one so the knee cap is pushed out a little and I don't have to buy the knee cap extenders.

To say that, if you prefer to lump all of them as a upgrade kit for sale, I am also in for sure.

    Thank you for doing it.

Call the cops, file a report, then go check local dumpsters.
Chances are, they opened the boxes not long after poaching them.

Possibly not knowing what they are, nor their value, they may have gotten rid of them PDQ!

    Gook Luck man!

Mine finally came yesterday! I'm so impressed with this guy, with it being my first proper FT figure (my 2 others are Spindrift 2.0 and Brawn) it feels absolutely amazing! Just the heft, the finnish, no QC issues and and every joint being at just the right tolerance is awesome. Even though I a toon guy, the toy pieces surprised me a lot as well with just how different it looks with them on, almost makes me wanna buy a second one to display with toy parts!

I can't help but see a recolored and articulated version of the G1 Shockwave everytime I see the official MP Shockwave !! It's like they didn't even try to bulk him up at all. Just say, hey ,the original was pretty good, just put some articulation in the legs and we're good to go !!

Especially next to that cool looking Soundwave. Just makes the MP look like a cheap toy.
