Can they stay on during transformation?
I'm not sure as I only added it after going into alt mode for the first time, but I'm leaning towards Yes because the orientation stays the same and those pieces can stay relatively clear when transforming other bits along the way.
Everything pegs together in alt mode as well, so it is all 100% intentionally designed this way.
Or they want as many people as possible to cancel so that they can sell those units at raked up prices? Not that I have a cynical side…
I thought the toon panels on the sides have to untab and move for transformation which would be blocked by the toy parts? Or am I thinking wrong?
Another win for me the customer swerving UK import vat and admin fee on the BBB purchase of AWave. Happy days. That is now 2 for 2 on Bombusbee TF purchases.
The figure is with my local PO for delivery. I’m hopeful that will be in hand either today or tomorrow the latest.
Ditto. Somewhere between 6-10 days as well.
BBB for the win!
@nhyone - BBB price has worked out the best for UK buyers
I don't think so.
If you can keep these out of the way during transformation, your good. It moves a bunch as well as you can see so it should be possible for sure. I'll know 100% when I go back to robot mode eventually as I won't take them off during transformation.
I haven't transformed mine yet so I'm not familiar with it first hand but watching the transformation video that was first out shows the side panels get pulled up, then opened to pull another panel out, then closed and folded up and tabbed into the upper portion of the leg where the toy panels tab in. I could be wrong and just not able to visualize it but I dont see how the toy leg parts can stay on through transformation.
Oh, nevermind! You're right, I see it now! I needed to stop thinking so much on where the toy part tabs to the leg and focus on the tabbed part on the movable panel. That's pretty cool then that either style is fully transformable!
Out for delivery. Hoping the timing is right, because while I'm home the entire day, there's one hour in during which it would be inconvenient for the delivery to happen.
And then deciding if which Soundwave is superior. Honestly, based on comparison pictures I'm leaning to MP-13. I'm not into cartoon accuracy and like a mix. Sure, AW has that ability as well with toyparts, but there are several elements that just look better on MP-13 to me. Still hate MP-13's hips, though re-lubricating them recentely helped again.
Shitty for us who want to use the TT cassettes.
Very smart business on FT's side:
- those who got Acoustic Wave must now also get their cassettes
- those who stick with MP-13 can use the FT cassettes.
It's win-win for FT.
Hadn’t put Menasor back since @jimmyh backplate arrived on mon/tues. Wife wanting to know if my toys are going back or does she need to find a new home for them. Got to love that threat.
Anyway, looking forward to having a proper fiddle later. I might get Acoustic Wave out to transform .
Very happy with my copy from an initial inspection. Tight joints. Tape eject works perfectly. Not seen any blemishes/ scratches or dinks. Well done Bombusbee. Purchased direct rather than through their AliExpress store.
I knew that was Bombusbee from the packaging.
From the UK; I am guessing you didn't get hit with any sort of import tax or anythig like that.
I have not experienced that yet and wonder if anyone else has at all?
Mine arrived an hour ago as well! Got him out on the desk to look at whilst I work, sadly will be no play time til this evening. He looks glorious.
Also UK-based; no customs hits with BBB yet. Haven't been hit with customs for anything I've bought from China at all; only time I got hit was buying from the US a few years ago.
Good to hear, hopefully it will be like that with the FT Perceptor I have on pre-order, he's sort of my experiment with Bombusbee.
Interesting...in this pic he seems closer to the blue he appeared to be on the show for the most part than the lighter blue he seems to be in other pics.
Great news. And if you both pre-ordered, I believe you got the cheapest possible deal.
Well worth waiting those extra days for delivery from from Bombusbee.
Yup, £125 to the door Very happy with that amount! And very glad I switched my FT POs to BBB-hopefully they all turn out as good. Interested to see how much the cassette pack will run.
Cheers, thought I'd give it a go. Looks pretty good, although can't decide between this and the glossy plain blue card I was using.
Wow, what an amazing deal, to think this is how much robots this size actually were priced once upon a time, ahhhhh.... the good ol' days! I wonder how much we'll be saving if and whenever their Dead End comes out, at these kind of prices I can see them becoming my go to for FT products, if I don't ever get hit with customs, of course.
It's because the paint is pearlescent, so it looks darker under natural light than it does under artificial. See my pic above for similar lighting conditions.
My unit from bombussbee has showed up in Illinois
they are getting close bomb-boys
I wonder if even with a customs tax, it would still be worth it.
