That's not judging severely. It's expecting a 7" figure that costs $50+ to have more than basic articulation from 1980.

Nostalgia glasses don't work on me and I'm not blinded by some adherence to 40 year old animation. I expect value commensurate with what I paid, and that thing seems like a bad joke. I don't have to have it in hand to know I won't like it any more than I have to be run over by a car to know it won't be a fun experience.

As far as the Robosen goes, I'm intrigued since I like the Knightverse Prime look. I want to see some videos of what kind of movement and articulation it's capable of before I judge whether or not the non-transforming aspect hurts it.

I really like this thing, but a month is not enough time to save up for this thing. They should have announced it and released it latter.

 

Honestly, they should've done another character in the G1 design because this thing is basically one of those $30 robots that I see at Burlington. It'll have some buyers, but I don't think it will sell as much as their previous offering.

 

Those Burlington toys can't do anything these can, and that's discrediting the engineering feats of Robosen.

It’s not as technically impressive as Flagship, but the idea that Autobot toys in real life are something that just exists and is mass produced is mind-bending to me.

 

I just realized how weird the face is.

Mostly the eyes.

 

Yeah, it's pretty weird overall with that.

 

Fair enough my dude.   I hear ya but after collecting for 25 years in my adult life I enjoy all things toys articulation is good and I followed that for a long time but gimmicks and accessories are sometimes better.

The fact that they're releasing actual robots to go with the latest Transformers movie is something I never thought I'd live to see. No other franchise can say that (unless you count plastic glowing light-sabers)

 

So now I'm trying to decide between a. ThreeZero Autobots (ROTB Optimus, BB, maybe Mirage), Monocraft Megatron (~$500-$600) or b. this ($700-$800)?

 

If you get this now it will be $669 out the door. Prices will go back up in the next few months.
