?

Do you think this new product could be stepping away from what we love about Transformers as toys?

The changes they made to the hasbro one are 2 batteries instead of 1 giving it more power and 1 microphone instead of 2 for voice commands..idk if that differs from the one robosen is offering..my guess is they are the same..hasbro set an initial price maybe they didnt know if it would sell or some contract stuff wirh robosen..who knows..they may just be letting roboson sell theirs for whatever they want..this is all pure speculation

So now, in addition to having e-mailed Robosen.com (both through their 'contact us' page and their support e-mail) regarding the legitimacy of Robosenstore.com, I have also e-mailed Robosenstore.com to ask if my order will in fact be fulfilled. Now that they have changed the listing to specify only sales and shipping within the continental US (previously only the case on Robosen.com), this does throw some doubt over whether they'll even sell me the item, let alone ship it to me. Neither site has replied. They were happy enough to use a UK billing AND shipping address when I ordered it and they have charged me $71 in advance for shipping, on top of the $100 preorder. Yet there seems to be no real way to actually speak to them, outside the US.

    It's their store?
Does HasbroPulse.com looks sketchy to you too?

    oh wait, I mean Robosenstore.com
Robosen.com looks legit, but when I add something into my cart and check out I get to Shopping Cart | Robosen
I don't see how someone can get to Robosenstore.com

They do seem to be separate outlets, but there are enough mentions of Robosenstore.com on Robosen media (including the FAQ on Robosen.com) to suggest that they are legit. As legit as each other, at least.

Except that it was developed, in isolation from Hasbro, quite some time ago. The only "co-development" occurring in this is figure is (potentially) the same for any other licenced 3P Transformers product.

Thus, regardless of your own opinions to the contrary, this figure is indeed a fully transforming, licenced 3P figure.

    My point stands.

Ask, and you shall receive! ;)

I think this Optimus is fun and impressive, but, to be honest, it's also kinda boring to me. Does anybody share this opinion with me? I just love that transformers are puzzles, and you can fidget around with them. I would really miss the haptic part.

My opinion isn't exactly the same as yours, but I think the sole reliance upon touchscreens and software, rather than hardware (for "hand control"), such as a physical controller, further diminishes the tactile nature of this product. Telling a toy to basically "go play (with) yourself" only has so much fun, which is what this might be limited to if the app fails to work. And honestly, who likes using "virtual joysticks" over either digital button taps on a touch screen or physical analogue controls on a hardware controller? Virtual sticks are a jack of all trades but master of none, IMO.

Look at the poll results, a lot of people thinks it's awesome, but the most important thing to emphasize is that this project is a step in the right direction, the toys have to evolve, but that doesn't mean that the old concept of manually transforming toys will disappear.

Late for this party, didn’t realize $699 is a limited special price for pulse.
    Placed a pre-order on Robosen.com for $799+shipping
Does pulse also charge shipping fee? Signed up for email notifications on pulse, hope they get more in stock

Well, I ordered one from Hasbro Pulse and my expectation is that I would probably mess around with it for a few days or maybe a week and then it would probably be placed somewhere in my basement with my other toys “on display”. This wouldn’t be much different from the Sphero Star Wars BB8 and R2D2, or for that matter that different from most Transformers toys I get. I’m in it to own the first Optimus toy that can transform himself, and I think that will be worth it for me even if I stop playing with it not too long after receiving it.
