?

Do you think this new product could be stepping away from what we love about Transformers as toys?

Oh, worldwide. Sorry if I sounded ignorant, you are completely right.

In the US that is basically impossible right now.

I doubt it. There are other applications beyond Transformer toys. Remember this guy?

The Robosen, for me, is basically that with more servos coupled with an "AI" not unlike the SmartApp R2D2.

So yeah, I'm pretty sure even if the Robosen does not hit goals, there will be an improved version.

This looks great as a “lookie what I bought” conversation piece, but I don’t see this as becoming any kind of standard in the future.

plus side, I see this skyrocketing in value in 5 to 10 years.

It just hit me that this isn't just an action figure/toy. This is an honest to goodness robot! It's not the super advanced scifi robot that he is in the show, but this is a REAL transforming robot.

There is always an improved version of EVERYTHING.

I don’t understand the point of that fact.

    play stations

    xboxes

    iPhones

    laptops

    graphics cards

    Etc x10000

do we simply not buy anything and wait until next year?

    which year?

Anyway. It is pointless. It sold out anyway and I’m happy I got one.

I definitely think this is an impressive gadget, and I'd like to see what it looks like on the inside, how it works and etc. I'm kind of surprised it's taken THIS long to put one of these on the market officially.

Even if it could be argued that it's a tad over-priced it's an impressive feat nonetheless.

Fun fact: I'm actually pretty good friends with the one of the founders of Wowwee, the guys behind Robosapien. He's all for pushing robotics in toys more, so naturally he had a really positive opinion on this Optimus. He was also pretty surprised to see a price tag under $1000, considering how many components need to work in unison for this to even walk, let alone transform and pose.

My point exactly. $700 is no small amount, so my money will be on the improved version.

Noice! I'm curious: did he say how much it could have been?

Please some one tell Hasbro to give the transformer licence to Boston Dynamics.

Guess I’m a sad kid then. Because I never wanted self-transforming figures, or RC cars for that matter. *shrugs* Guess I don’t find any stimulation or satisfaction in those.

You do realize there’s literally thousands of transformer options to satisfy and stimulate yourself, right?

When I first checked it during the live stream I saw it said 50,000. Then it was changed to a lower number. Makes me wonder if there was a total of 50,000 and someone messed up when they first listed it.
