While I understand why, it's a shame they couldn't animate the rex arms.

Berger still has the voice down to perfection. I'm going to assume it was something in the recording, the speaker or the filming of this that has caused it to sound off.

Hi Sorry for the delay. Waiting for the Boss man over in Marketing to see if I can get one. I'll update once I know more.

Way better than expected but $1500 is a BIG fuck no. $700 for prime was absolute top end. Double that, FUCK no.

Pretty cool. Couldn’t afford it without winning the lottery, but still pretty cool. I think it is a lot more appealing than their optimus; Grimlock just has a cooler transformation sequence that works well with this gimmick.

You people are forgetting all the time robotics fans. The real appeal of this thing, the way of playing with it is to program movements. Being able to do it in both modes... Boy, that is fun.

This a toy for computer, electronic engineers, etc, people who buy an oscilloscope just for fun. And casual nerds with money to spend, of course, just like any other expensive stuff.

Look dude, if he's lost his touch he's lost his touch. I respect the work he DID but if he just doesn't have it anymore to do an amazing job then find a VA that can imitate him OR pay to use old voice clips and kick the guy some royalties.

I just sort of figured that’s a given crowd for pretty much anything robotics related. But yeah that’s definitely another crowd they’re selling these to. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the main overall buyers of these.

Pretty cool, but I’m also a tad wary of anything app-ified. Learned a lesson with the Sphero Star Wars droids as they stopped supporting the main app when licensing became too expensive, and even though it’s still usable (for now, if you still have it on your device), it appears that you can no longer download it if needed - leaving the droids more or less paperweights if you lose the app.

Although, I guess one could choose to download the Sphero Edu app in its place, some of the droids’ key features are tied to the Star Wars app.

All power to anyone wanting to fork out for Grimlock, but it feels like a lot of coin to roll the dice for the above reasons. Hopefully the relationship between Robosen and Hasbro lasts a long while.

Yeah even with this Greg Berger slander.

Yes he doesn’t sound like he did 40 years ago but he still has it. Also it’s the bare voice with no effect to it so it’s also not going to be the same.

You could actually get it on pulse at $600 initially. Then they jacked it up some more and then more to get where we are today. Just feels like gouging for the sake of gouging.

100% agreed, Grimlock’s transformation is very simple (and is in the cartoon) so don’t make it fucking over complicated, make it as MP-08 and SS86 did it and that’s that. Then just give it the articulation, paint and accessories you want. So it shouldn’t be overly expensive due to transformation and also size, while bigger he is smaller than Jetfire.

Hopefully sooner than later one happens (and isn’t overpriced).

6 year old me would sell my Brother for this but that much money is just to much. It\'s awesome and I love it but that\'s a crazy amount.
