All I can think of is the genies intro in Aladdin. He will be sorely missed.
I didn't really expect this news. :RIP:
This sucks hard. He was a BIG part of my listening repertoire back in high school, esp during the summer after a hard day at work... I must have played his "Night at the Met" CD a 100 times back then.
I would have loved to have seen him live.
Hope he's partying with Kinnison and Belushi.
And The Stooges.
so horrible, really came out of the blue. RIP Robin Williams
The funny thing is, a video recording of Night at he Met includes a transformer joke in the Childhood segment. Because when you have a kid, you can't use drugs, because their toys will freak you out. Like with Transformers, if you're doing drugs, you'll lose your mind going, "it's a truck. It's a robot-WHATIZZIT!!?"
I remember a few years back he actually talked about his depression and thoughts of suicide on Marc Maron's podcast. I was surprised then to hear that such a seemingly happy guy had such demons.
Really sucks to see such a thing happen.
He was probably the 2nd biggest comedic presence since Bob Hope.
The more I think about it, the more I realize how much he helped me through some stressful times growing up... it's a shame that all of those he helped with his comedy couldn't have helped him in return.
May you rest in peace good Sir and let the demons you fought in life be but a distant memory.
And with every single one of Comedy's greatests
Devastated by his loss. Just can't get my head around it.
Since he had always admired him so much, I'm certain the first person he'd want to see would be Jonathan Winters.
"Many comedians, actors, and friends gave personal tributes about Jonathan Winters on social media shortly after his death. Robin Williams posted, “First he was my idol, then he was my mentor and amazing friend. I'll miss him huge. He was my Comedy Buddha. Long live the Buddha.”
At the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, Williams would again honor the career and life of Winters."
I've never been this devastated by a celebrity death.
Robin. You'll live on in our memories forever.
My God. This is a shock indeed, coming from the man who played Genie, Patch Adams and other friendly comic characters.
May his soul rest in peace.
Lets all watch What Dreams may come and hope that's what he's going through now.
I just learned about it a few mins ago from girlfriend and the internet. This is just so so sad cause he was such a great actor, comedian. He will be very missed.
People who are giving happiness to others are often the saddest inside. He was a great actor. I remember him mostly from Mrs. Doubtfire, Bicentennial Man, Jumanji and Aladdin.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Williams. We will always remember you.
Robin Williams is actually one of my favorite.
He'll be well missed!
