And "The China Problem" episode of South Park would like to have a word with them!
Because we all know that lowbrow humor didn't appear in transformers until the movie came along. Oh wait
I wonder if they mean something like beast wars or somthing like the awful Energon cartoon.
CGI like BW = Yay!
CGI like BM, Energon, Cybertron, or the NEST webisodes = Boo!
But didn't BM have superior CGI animation?
Only problem being that not everybody likes the DESIGNS themselves?
Hasbro has already said that Animated set the new standard for quality. Regardless what animation they use, it will be high quality.
"Nothing like Beast Wars"? Basically you don´t want a decent, well written series? Weird. To sum up, it´s not about what YOU want, it´s what the MAJJORITY wants.
Please tell me that's a joke. That CG was eye burning.
Blame Bay not Berto and The Kurtzmeister.
For the people that does not like Beast Wars I hope you are not mistaken it for Beast Machines. Also did you see season 2 and 3 or did you stop at season 1?
IMO this was Beast Machines not Beast Wars
they seriously need to go back to Beast Wars. that was by far the best season ever.
people need to stop bashing the BW/ Beast Machines CG. the CG for Beast Wars was some of the best at the time and revolutionary at the time and the same with BM. Beast Machines was more stylised and as a result still looks pretty good today for the most part the stylised nature has allowed it to age better from that that went before.
Besides, the storytelling and overall plot was some of the most interesting we've ever had
So long as it's not like Cybertron and Energon where the CG is blocky and doesn't move fluidly I don't mind.
I don't care if it's CGI, I just don't want an abuse of stock transformation scenes like in Cybertron.
For everyone hoping for Clone Wars level of animation, please get your hopes down now.
Lucas spends a million dollars (or something like that, perhaps its more) on each episode of Clone Wars. Hasbro is not going to spend a ton of money on a show that will air on The Hub. Because half the people reading this board probably don't even get that channel (or Discovery Kids, as it's known now), don't expect Hasbro to break the bank on this show.
Also, remember that Hasbro wants to launch a whole new slew of shows, which means they're going to have to budget for all of them. They're not just paying for Transformers, they're paying for a bunch of other shows too.
That said, I still expect this to be a good show.
I think a new CGI TF cartoon could be very good (animation-wise), but it's largely a function of budget, as I'm sure many have already said here. There's a reason TV CG isn't the same as stuff by Pixar or ILM film effects, much the same as a 2D Disney feature generally appears better than the average TV cartoon by Korean studios or Canadian flash animators.
This is all news to me...
CGI = Awesome!
Robert and Alex = This makes me unhappy. The last series I enjoyed was Beastwars... And I hated the way the movies were written... damn it...
What do executive producers do again?
They usually handle manners of securing funding, or directly fund the projects themselves. They have an amount of influence and input on the project, but they're not the ones directly making the decisions. The job of any type of producer is a nebulous and fluid thing at times. So, some executive producers can be little more than glorified accountants, or if they're someone like Spielberg, they can have a lot more input and decision making just because of who they are.
As I said before, Bob and Alex are probably more like idea men or advisers in a creative standpoint in this case. They are not doing the job that Bob and Larry did in BW, or that Marty Isenberg did in Animated. So they're not writing it.
I'm tired of CG animation in general. I really hope it doesn't look cheap, or they hired out Rain Maker, or Nerd Corps so we get some nice stylized stuff.
It's funny how many are hoisting up Beast Wars as an example of bad CG, considering it won an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Animation. I would imagine that the fans back then were whooping it up that a Transformers show won an Emmy.
Good luck to whoever wants to shed that blood! Prepare to have certain segments of the fandom loudly shit on their work as ruining Transformers forever.
