Um...what? He didn't make Hellboy...That was Guillermo Del Toro. That and Hellboy and Deadpool are VASTLY different characters. EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed the Del Toro thread below. You probably meant to post in that.
Wait, wait, am I to believe this movie is stalling out all over the place? That's crazy, and nobody in the world ever expected this to happen. I'm crushed.
Pretty much how I feel. Although I do kind of feel bad for Ryan. The guy's obviously really into making the movie, since in most interviews with the Fox execs we hear that he's apparently watching over the writers to give them a hand in making it right. The guy's awesome, and I do think that he can make a great Deadpool movie. So hopefully he does get to do it. He was great as Deadpool for the 3 minutes Deadpool was in the Wolverine movie. And Tarantino has already said that he doesn't want to do a comic book adaption. If he does a superhero movie he wants it to be an original.
Now this just makes me a sad panda Please for Pete's sake Never let this man even touch a marvel movie.
Sadly, I think that the real reason the movie is kinda falling apart is because of Ryan Reynolds himself. He was into it at first, yes, but it seems like he's completely focussed on Green Lantern for now. He even said in an interview that for now, Deadpool's not even a blip on his radar anymore.
What interview is this? Just at the last comic-con he was still into the movie and getting it done. I honestly would love to see this statement. Plus Rob Liefield recently tweeted(or whatever it is called) "Woke up this morning to great news the deadpool movie is full speed ahead" this was about 4-5 days ago. Also the producer of all the X-Men movies very recently said it was still going on. However if Rodriguez doesn't do it I wouldn't be too sad there are others out there that I think can do it justice. Even if Quentin took over and made it more of his own he would still get the character done right and the job too. After thought:Why not just get the director of Zombieland and just end it? I'm not sure if he is avalible to do it but he diffently could handle the material with crazy action and comedy.
Odd, the article that stated that is gone from the site. Maybe they were bullshitting after all then.
It doesn't mean he's not enthusiastic about it. Especially seeing how he reacted to Deadpool being called a superhero at Comic-Con. Ryan Reynolds: ‘Deadpool Is Not A Superhero’ So I do think that the guy wants to be Deadpool. But seeing how so many other projects are ready for him, and Deadpool keeps going from 'dead' to 'making great progress', I'd probably go for Green Lantern too. So you can't really blame Ryan for going to the obviously more stable job.
