I think I just found another actor who's going to be in the movie: Dean Scott Vazquez, who previously appeared in In the Heights with Anthony Ramos. They posted this video on Instagram a week ago with the caption "It’s a wrap !!":

The building seen briefly in the background is the same one visible from one of the studios they were filming at in Montreal:

As you can see, the setup is a match for the one in the video. It's the same place Anthony Ramos previously posted a picture of him in, only his picture is facing the opposite direction from the building:



Plus, Vazquez is followed by Stephen Caple Jr., Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, and Tobe Nwigwe. So, it would appear there will be a kid character in the film.

Edit: this video was also shot there, and there was another brief clip of the area in an Instagram video of filming crew shenanigans that I can't seem to find.

He's currently 13, having been born in 2008.

Unfortunately, Sky Spy later took a dive into water and was at the bottom of a creek for a day. It was lucky that the footage was completely fine.

Thank you for your concern. He still turns on with a new battery inserted (the one that got wet is toast), but I can't be sure he still functions properly until I get an adapter that lets me connect to him with my new phone.

 

Found this about the crew's arrival to Tarapoto city. I think they'll be filming the jungle/forest scenes there since they're done in Machu Picchu

Kinda bugged that the ship is just generic modern alien quasi-organic sci-fi. Looks like the ship from Prometheus. I don't get this idea that alien stuff can't look smooth or practical. Maybe it's not actually part of their ship and is just some kind of dwelling they made, but it's still kinda meh.

 

That's because of this irritating misconception that the more complicated something look it somehow looks more 'alien', as if starfish aliens are the only 'realistic' aliens in fiction even though we've never met any actual aliens so you obviously can't say such a thing and yet people do anyways.

We see a similar issue with the robot designs, because to these people somehow a machine with ridiculous limb proportions is more 'realistic' than a robot with a humanoid shape.

I blame the Alien films...which come to think of it Prometheus is in that universe isn't it?

 

In theory, anyways.

Both Prometheus and Covenant were meant to be prequels to Alien.

For some reason typing that out got me thinking about the Star Wars prequels, anyone remember when the prequel films were the worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars as a franchise? Good times.
