Just a reminder, the two leaked leak scenarios are completely different, and the second one looks very VERY legitimate.

No, it's not figure of speech, it is time travel. SilverOptimus is just saying that the Maximals time traveled but the Autobots didn't and the Autobot's meet them in the 1990s.

This whole leak is just a big "He said, she said, he saw, they did." situation. I'm not saying that who got the sources is lying, but if Hasbro greenlighted a script like this, what the "leak" claims, then they are really f**ked in the head. First of all, finding a director who actually wants to touch the Bayverse is hard enough. That's why they couldn't hire the big guns of directors. They know (most of ) the Bay Transformers films are utter sh*t. Travis Knight accepted to direct the Bumblebee movie, because it was (at one point) a prequel and he had a bit more freedom to do what he wants, without staying in the continuity. Then when they went with a full-on reboot, he immediately made a new opening and re-wrote the ending.

From listening to the event I'm pretty sure that Caple Jr. did mean that the Maximals do time travel to the past in ROTB, so I think time travel is sorta of confirmed to play a role in the movie to some extent.

I think what @SilverOptimus is trying to say is the Maximals time travel to the past a long time ago and the Autobots find them in the present day (1994)? The Autobots themselves are not time traveling. @SilverOptimus feel free to correct me if that's not what you mean.

I agree that the "plot leaks" are probably not legit, but I do think time travel will be involved in the movie.

Well, this plot doesn't really match what I believed Steven Caple Jr.'s vision for the movie would have been, the key thing they wanted to keep was the heart of Bumblebee with a bit more action, this plot feels like it lacks any heart TBH.

    Here's what I think
(Do not copy and paste on 4chan board)
The Maximals will time travel to guide Optimus and his Autobots away from the future destinies (turning into Terrorcons). Meanwhile Terrorcons are sent by Unicron to prevent the Maximals from doing so, and the Terrorcons bring the Predacons along. The Terrorcons are future versions of the Autobot team (Optimus and Scourge, Arcee and Nightbird). After the Terrorcons' destruction, a post-credit scene shows Megatron, angrily staring down at the camera as he learns his mortal enemy is on Earth.

I dont know if what @SilverOptimus posted nececarly discredits the "leak" though. Consider the leak is about time traveling Transformers. That doesnt dissmiss the "leak's" legitimacy. I kind of wish it did, only because it would either close the door or give us verification on this topic.

I think they finish filming this month if I remember from an old thread.

Just what I have shared before:

-Budget larger than Bumblebee, but still manageable (I had heard in the $150 million area)
-Larger robot cast, but not too many (around 2007 movie level, 5 vs 5).
-No Beast Wars (was a separate project)
-Tone much closer to Bumblebee than to Bayverse
-Almost the entire movie was to take place in New York. No globe trotting.
-Optimus as the clear main character
-Simplified marketing campaign that really focused on characters and ideas general audiences know. I saw early marketing material for the movie to be called "The Transformers."

Much of that seems to no longer be the case. While there will always be changes during the development process, this seems like an overhaul of story and direction, with only a few basic concepts remaining. Honestly, I think they did the exact same thing they did with AoE and TLK: they took the two scripts they had in development simultaneously and smashed them together.
