Why can’t bayverse just die?

I know but the Bayverse timeline should end but I wouldn’t mind if they made cartoons or comics.I just don’t want movies connected with it.

Paramount had a chance at starting anew and learning from their mistakes and really just went “haha lol what if I don’t do that?”

 

A new Transformers continuity having visual similarities or story beats from the last one? That's never happened before.

 

I wouldn't call them out just yet. It very well could be just an easter-egg to the Bayverse. Remember, Bumblebee had Sector-7, Hoover Dam and yet, it wasn't really connected.

 

You know, the truck Optimus turns into in the Bay movies is a 1992 model.
This movie is set in the right year for scanning it.

I don't know why people act like it's the end of the world with this movie potentially being set in the Bayverse. Even if it is, they'll just keep making movies up until the events of 2007 until Paramount and Hasbro decide it's time for some sort of change.

 

Guys it's just an easter egg don't get crazy ,It looks like you didn't watch the movies or pay attention , the aoutbots arrive on earth in 2007 . it doesn't make sense for this to be bayverso, they're just going to get a few things here and there like sector 7 in bumblebee.

 

I don't think people 'are' acting like it's the end of the world, they're simply (rightfully) tired of the Bayverse and all its baggage and would like to believe Paramount has learned from its many, many mistakes.

What you're seeing is simply exasperation.

The thing about "relax, its a reboot, it would make no sense for this to not be a reboot" is that it is hard to relax when the movies -have multiple times- done things that didn't make sense. The fear will stay real for until they have a honest to god movie set in 2007 that proves its truly 100% rebooted.

 

Fair enough, they are not fans of the Bayverse, but we could say the same about G1. Yeah, it was the foundation of the franchise and is almost flawless (nostalgia may play a part), but us Movieverse fans, as of this past year, are in some way tired of G1.

Don't get me wrong, G1 has taken a bit of a back seat in the past decade or so and is finally getting some well deserved updated toys, but I don't think it means other fandoms should be left in the dark, which is why I'm glad Armada and (hopefully) TFP is finally getting some love again. Even next year is looking bad for Bayverse fans, with little to no Studio Series figures.

I'm not here to spark a debate, I just don't think it's right to continuously argue about this movie, whether it's a reboot or not. I hope both fandoms can just come together and enjoy this movie. One of the final shots in the BB movie, where Prime and Bee drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, is one of my personal favourites. A rare moment of G1 and Bayverse coming into the mix, which is what I hope this movie is all about, obviously including BW as well.

 

Even that's the case, I still think it's a terrible idea. It just leads to the audience questioning the reboot aspect. It doesn't help he's already the same car from the 2007 movie. There are better ways (that aren't confusing) to make nods to Bayverse fans—this ain't it.

 

Though, in all fairness, if he is already a 70s Camaro that is already a huge Bayformers reference, so being upset that the Camaro also features the same prop on it's mirror is, like, kind of... "pissing in the ocean" ?

 

Him being the same vehicle is one thing and can be excused due to the ending of Bumblebee but being the same vehicle with the same exact details as the car that appears in the 2007 film straight up doesn't make sense if they're saying this is a reboot.

 

Probably just reference for bayverse fans
