He's historically seen with bits of teal highlights though. Plus, some things are easier to translate into animation versus live-action. With the complex aesthetic these films go for, these designs need some color to have easily identifiable parts or we're back to messy fight scenes again.

Yeah really sucks and is disappointing but they're are positive's for it's delay but anyways D+ day reveals and the concept art for Kenobi show to investors last year leaking today helped a lot.

They didn't. This is confirmed to be a sequel to Bumblebee.

I know, it kills me that we won't see the bot modes for another year. I was already super anxious to see Wheeljack's bot mode but now the best we can hope for is some blurry leaks of tie-in merchandise sometime mid-late next year...   

 

Imagine waiting that length of time to see how Wheeljack looks, assuming he'll follow a similar trend to the one seen in Bumblebee and when you finally see him he just looks like this:

 

So do us a favor:

Don’t ever show that again.

 

I think it'd be awesome if during some climactic fight, he tows onto a news helicopter and combines into a more G1-inspired bot mode, plus it'd be cool as hell!
