Can I just say how crazy and cool that are main villains are Scourge, Nightbird and Battletrap for a LA Transformers movie?

 

If Scourge and him actually do combine on some level then they'll get points, otherwise probably just a nameslap.

Yeah it's a nameslap, but I see it as being a case similar to Blackout or Barricade where the previously established character isn't really that important or well-known.

just saying it might be more than a coincidence that a character named after a duocon happens to be a truck used for connecting to other vehicles. i swear a tow track latching a helicopter mid chase and crashing together to become a robot would probably be the most badass thing to happen in a live action transformers movie

 

Or be absorbed into the G1 aesthetic.

Sadly this is the direction the franchise is heading in over in the Generations line. It’s like the imagination is utterly dead amongst a certain segment of the fan base and cannot accept anything that doesn’t look like it jumped out of 1984. Or in the case of the films starting with Bumblebee, “G1 with more polygons.”

Battle Trap it is. Hopefully he stands on his own merit and isn’t a duocon. I can already hear the purists screaming that Wheeljack is the hippie bus.

this film would be my favorite movie if that was the case with it only being topped if it they make one with sixshot as a main antagonist

 

Totally agree, while I think it would be cool to see a Duocon on screen, Battle Trap is not a "above reproach" kind of name, it can be used in a different context if they so choose.

 

Its rumored that the robot mode is 'animalistic', there will be no Duocon gimmick here.

 

1. It's okay for people to prefer the Lancia alt-mode.
2. Given how he's currently not 'wearing' an alt mode similar to another well-liked character I don't see any dumb arguments cropping up.

I'd been hoping this new universe would stay a little more faithful to G1, given the precedent that'd been set so far. I don't absolutely hate Wheeljack as a repair van, but at least give him the white and green color scheme.

 

Of course, the superior name for the tow truck with the initials "BT" would have been Black Turtle:

That is hilarious, a bunch of people thought that the Truck might of been 1/2 if Scourge, sighting duocon inspirations, and the orange truck turns out to be Battletrap, whats next, a flying character is revealed to be flywheels that combines with it
