Well, they've all been running around in their underwear since G1 anyway.
The trenchcoat was a daring foray into the world of new Cybertronian fashion.........Or Crosshairs lived a double life as a Cybertronian flasher.
Oh hell no
Oh hi nameslap #43.
Hope I'm wrong and he's actually a Duocon...
I bet you guys anything Wheeljack will change altmodes in the movie, either in the ending scene or towards the final act. Remember what this is all for guys
'To sell toys'
Also Battle Trap is a great name for that character. Cannot wait to see the robot modes!
Battletrap! Aw hell yeah, that's great.
Or a triple changer like his FunPublications self.
Name-slap or not, I hope Battle Trap gets enough screen time and has a good design with fun toys.
Based on what, exactly?
It's fine if you like it, but how is that a great name for a character we know nothing about at the moment? It sounds to me like they just slapped a random con name onto this non-Decepticon, and if they aren't even willing to show effort when it comes to naming these characters it doesn't necessarily bode well for everything else.
Who was Battletrap again?
He gives me the fun vibe, like Nitro Zeus from TLK. His altmode is pretty great too, if the toy allows you to to two other vehicles oh my god. I'm really excited to see this guy.
One of two Decepticon Duocons, alongside Flywheels.
A Deceptucon Duocon who had two vehicles (a helicopter and truck) that would combine into one robot. He was realllllly popular in the recent Power of the Primes toyline and even won FAN Favorite toy of the Year
He was a Duocon from the G1 toyline. In later years, he recieved an updated figure which was a redeco of T30 Springer with a new head and finally in Power of the Primes he was a combiner composed of Battleslash and Roadtrap, two legion class figures. He also won Fan Favourite Toy of the Year.
Oh this guy.
Well since we have no idea what this new Battletrap will look or be written like, I'm still going to wait before fully judging it, but I am a bit disappointed simply because I'd like to see the gimmick in live action. Unless he combines with Scourge or something like some people have theorized.
I should rephrase, the name feels great for the character from what I know so far. The name just clicks to me, it's a name I didn't think of and it (no offense anyone) sounded a lot better than some of the theories going around. It just seemed to kind of bring him into the fold more, he's a character now. It's not just 'that tow truck' 'wonder who that is', and considering they could've gone with a lot worse and Hasbro is kind of bad at naming characters now, it isn't so bad.
I mean no, it's not the O.G Battle Trap but it doesn't strike me as just a nameslap. Battle Trap hasn't exactly been that big a deal anyways.
To me, they gave him a name that works, I'm happy with it, and that's all my original comment really meant.
Battle Trap is a nobody, his name is free real estate.
Hmmm battle trap being a duo con makes my expectation of scourge and him combine together a little higher
Yeah it could definitely be far worse, like him being called Motormaster or something.
But seeing a helicopter smash into a truck to form a robot in the film would have been really cool.
It would, but again, Battle Trap is a nobody, so if a "helicopter and pick up truck" combiner happened in the movie it would probably be 100% a coincidence since the chances of a director genuinely having fond memories of the original toy are minuscule. Your average G1 fan does not hold an immense knowledge for those characters/toys.
Separate names with a comma.
