I can't tell for some reason if that Battle Damage is intentional or Prime (and Scourge) got fucked up in an accident? If it was intentional and for filming It's really convincing and really good-looking and Scourge fuck him up bad.

Something tells me this wasn't planned. There's a cop standing there in a modern bulletproof vest and the ambulance there too.

On the other hand... To think in the first movie, people cheered when Prime plowed through a plastic garbage can without a scratch.. now he breaks through a wall and knocks off his sunscreen... "Tis but a flesh wound."

I will say I really miss when Optimus was allowed to have more emotions than just "speeches and anger" ever since Prime ended since Hasbro's just been copying that show for a decade.

I still think UT Optimus is the best representation of Optimus. Like his modern versions he can still make speeches and takes the conflict serious, he's allowed to be angry without going straight to Bayverse Nemesis Prime, and he sometimes has to make tough decisions inorder to not lose the war.
But he is still able to laugh like when he first discovered what fist-bumping was, smile, make jokes, be a bit awkward amongst his troops in social situations, but not be in a depressing attitude 100% of the time because, while normal people may become ultra depressed in his situation, he's suppose to be the Captain America of Transformers and #1 Space Dad. I miss this kind of Optimus.

 

Edited my post to say that too.. from the looks of these pictures, it's that trailer's fault.

The damage to Scourge might be planned but the Prime injury seems unintentional, let alone an allusion to his wound in the '86 movie.

 

Yeah at least they got a second Prime and Scourge if it wasn't intentional.

The ambulance is probably just there in case something goes wrong with the stunt. If you watch the video, it seems very intentional.

Though, I'm surprised they actually went with practical effects over pure CGI.

I'm grateful for more Practical Effects! but I don't want to see people get hurt for it. The franchise already has that on its record for what happened during DoTM.
*Shia's drunked stupidity during RoTF doesn't count.*
