Yeah I believe it was Jon Bailey (I could be wrong) Seems like they were starting to turn on legacy VAs due to cost, but I'm guessing they can't replace Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime in regards to the movies. I hope Hasbro doesn't ignore legacy actors for future projects. They've done plenty of great work.

The more I think about that, I wouldn't be surprised if that was a situation where Lorenzo had Travis' hands tied. . .And I wouldn't be surprised if Lorenzo came up with the whole Blitzscream thing, too. . .

 

Well, pretty sure they learned their lesson as someone said they were for sure going to get Cullen on voicing him in RotB. Heck, I think it was Cullen himself that wanted to actually do the job himself

I used to be anti-Bay but honestly, I've grown to appreicate them more over the years. They have good parts and bad parts, just like literally everything else that has ever exsisted.

If it was up to me, Hollywood and Independent films based on pre-existing things, would be REQUIRED to use the original actors/voice actors, only unless:
A)The original person could establish they were unwilling;
B)The original person could establish they were unable.

Also, public notice would be required stating which one of those 2 conditions were met and why.

Way too many times where older actors get treated like trash and get thrown out just because of their age. . .I can dream. . .It would also apply to musicians who do film themes, i.e., while Daft Punk did an awesome job in TRON Legacy, to me it is criminal how the filmmakers didn't even contact WENDY CARLOS to do some music for it. She mentioned this on her website before Legacy came out. Daft Punk (before they broke up) stood on the shoulders of folks like Wendy. . .Would have been awesome if they collabbed. . .
