Starting to get pumped for this movie. What's up with the terrorcon name? Hoping for a rid scourge if they're going all out.

Legit the only real difference is that the eyes are angled/angrier I didn’t even know they’re was a different between the G1 and Bay Autobot logos till some guy was bitching like crazy about a Mp-20+WJ being shown at NYTF 2019 having the movie logo. It not that big of a deal

We don’t know let I don’t think. I’m sure he’ll have RID Scourge elements in robot mode since they combing elements from all 3 iteration (G1, RID and Cybertron).

Also do we know where the Grill/Faction symbol kills will be in robot mode? I hope they’re visible for all to see/clear to see in robot mode.

 

With regards to what could have happened with Scourge, I suspect the modifications may have literally backfired. In order to get that much smoke coming out of the pipes consistently instead of just bursts like you might see from a semi on the road, the engine actually has to be specifically altered to have a different combustion ratio and this damages it because the engine has to work harder than designed to get the same amount of power. I've seen this a couple of times on trucks with the 'Friends of Coal' stickers and license plate frames, they do it because they're trying to make a point about...whatever, it's beyond the scope of this thread, but even THEN they can't be belching smoke constantly every time they drive because it messes up the engine.

I suspect the towing was simply because they actually don't want to drive that truck for any amount of time that isn't going to be on a live set. The fire probably was electrical in nature that was made worse by how much flamable grime could have built up because of all the smoke belching (another reason why having a truck that does this constantly is generally a stupid idea, though I understand why they're doing it here just for dramatic purposes).

If it was a reboot, they wouldn't use the same symbols as bayverse.

Not to mention the inconsistency because the original version is the one used from Bumblebee. Unfortunately, I can't actually find a good picture of the one symbol that gets a close up, that being the one shown when Blitzwing appears and the camera zooms in on the missile with the logo on it. You can kind of make it out on Soundwave's chest if you look closely, and you can tell it's the OG one because the eyes are clearly wider than the crest 'slits' where on the Bayverse one, they're basically the same width.



As well as the fact those are bay-style Autobot logos...but Bumblebee's forehead symbol from the previous film is the original style. It's on Prime's shoulders, too.

I wonder if that Elite Guard logo (which has its left wing broken off on Scourge) will appear in the new IDW Wreckers comic.

She's also got video of all of the background vehicles circling the plaza they were filming the chase at, perhaps for an establishing shot before the Transformers arrive.

 

My problem with it is that the changes are meaningless. Like it's not better or worse—it's just different for the sake of being different. It doesn't bother me that much, but I prefer the emblems to be consistent throughout modern continuities. Like if they're going to use the Bayverse Con emblem in the movie, use it everywhere else too.

This too. There seems to be discontinuity between something that is considered to be a direct sequel according to the film makers.

 

Didn't his official description say he would have fire in his chest or abdomen?

 

I'd assume that'd be CGI and not literally light the truck on fire.
