I don't think it's Skullcruncher is Crescent so much as the one in the combiner pack is Skullcruncher while the Battle Master is Crescent. Edit: I lie, apparently he is. So it seems Crescent was the codename and Skull was just short for Skullcruncher.

I haven't seen Crescent being mentioned as listed for Studio Series before, just the listing for the Battle Master, code name 'Skull', and once with the assortment as 'New Transformation' (New Transformation 6 was a code name for Beast Battle Masters).

Unless you're thinking of the core figures code named Hydra and Delta 2 (Freezer is Delta 1).

I think Rhinox got booted to one of the later waves this year. Only new Voyager for wave 2 is said to be WFC Prime with a Cheetor repack.

 

Some of these look like interesting custom fodder possibly. Confusing jumble of names and gimmicks. 

 

So how long until the core deluxes and voyagers are revealed?

 

The targetmasters are awesome. I love that they actually have some articulation. Rhinox is a home run, and that Primal woth Tigatron(?) looks like fun.

 

Rhinox is wave 3 for SS, mainline he’ll probably be out before that figure like Primal.

Nah, previously dead character revived with new powers is a classic trope outside of Transformers. Especially if the revival is built in to the central plot of the film.

 

Yeah he’s definitely dying in the film for most of it. Or very damaged.

Yeah remember Optimus? They did a completely 180 after they killed him off.

 

Yeah, this is almost an expectation of the franchise at this point. It's not even the first time Bumblebee's done the Death and Resurrection Show, since he did it to get the kill on Megatron at the end of Prime, complete with restoring his voice.

 

A lot of these toys actually look amazing.  Hasbro has really started to figure out how to make good gimmick toys in movie lines.

 

Hell, he died and came back within minutes in RotF.

When I look at that compared to something like my kid's Kingdom Beast Megatron that's similarly priced....it's not even close.

 

It's a classic trope that I think is overdone and lame, especially in Transformers. It instantly kills the gravity of death and means other character deaths just lose their meaning when we know anyone who dies can just be revived. I'm expecting Bumblebee to just be really injured from his battle with Scourge because I really don't see a death/revival plot for Bumblebee working well.

These actually look decent, price is a bit much but at least they look good. I do love the main rotb guys partnered with bw animals as battlemasters and armor. And it\'s genius to partner the gator with Optimus primal. 

 

Yep, Crescent is Skullcruncher but I don't think he (he?!) had a Deluxe listing for SS Wave 3.

 

I think adding the green back in looks really good on this Rhinox design.

 

There's definitely some green missing on the big guy, otherwise its a pretty nice design for him.
