My bet is they’re taking advantage of the controversies surrounding all those movies in hope the people who aren’t gonna want to see those movies are gonna go see this instead.

The Flash actually has to be good even without the Ezra drama since the plots been leaked online for over a year and it pissed a lot of DC fans off even before Black Adam and James Gunn nonsense started. Most reactions I’ve seen for Indiana Jones are not good. Whatever things in those movies ends up driving people away from seeing in theaters means there’s a chance they go see ROTB instead if this movie ends up delivering what fans want instead using Keaton Batman to get people to see a shit fanfic of a script.

Spiderverse 2 is the only real competition for ROTB but Sony’s getting really cocky since No Way Home and probably thought Morbius was actually a success because of the memes. It could still be a mess, escpecislly if they’re gonna put a lot of focus on the Miles/Gwen shipp fest for a good chunk of the movie.

 

Fear not about Spider-Verse. Every known reliable scooper/leaker said Spider-Verse 2 is as good, if not better than the first, and may even nominated for best picture if the Academy allows it. That’s pretty high praise. And flash will be fine, imo. Your average movie goer probably has no clue what all Ezra has done.

Paramount has been on a roll lately. Hopefully we as Transformers fans aren't cursed and ROTB is poorly reviewed..

I'm still waiting to see more reviews and especially the audience score. Critics are always the sketchiest score to believe on rotten tomatoes.

I will say still worried about box office numbers as well. D&D at least was smart enough to not compete with 2 of the year's biggest films in the same week...

 

Agree, but a score is a score. A movie having 20% shows me that nearly all critics didn’t like the film, on average. A 90% shows me most critics at least found it anywhere between average to great or amazing even. Just a general gauge.

Although yes, more reviews have yet to come in. I never use Rotten Tomatoes as a strict decision maker for me seeing a movie. If I’m planning on seeing a movie, I’ll see it regardless of the score. Thats why even if ROTB is poorly reviewed, I’ll still pay to see it because I’m hyped. I know technically me giving Paramount $ for yet another bad tf film is bad but.. oh well. *shrug*

I wouldn't worry about Spiderverse 2, no matter how good a movie it is, it doesn't have the global potential that ROTB has (The international market is interested in it, that's why the trailer had so many views), here it's different, I think it's already a fact that ROTB will be less gross than Indy 5, The Flash and, failing that, Spiderverse 2 in the USA, since it is almost certain that they will all be better in quality than ROTB since I think this will be good but not like winning an Oscar or something like that; we have seen Shazam 2 and Quantumania sink at the box office getting bad reviews, if ROTB gets bad reviews it will fail very ugly even China will not be able to save it and we will not have movies in a long time

It's true, I don't know which was the last Paramount movie with bad reviews, I'm sure ROTB will have 70-85% on Rotten Tomatoes, whoever has a generic script will work against it to be considered 'very good'

 

It would be wise for Paramount to attach an ROTB Trailer to one of their own releases.
