Yeah I never really understood using the writer’s strike to explain certain negative aspects of ROTF. There’s no excuse for stuff like Dickbot the Blender Guy and a slime covered pile of tentacles that slithers down the main character’s throat and nostrils before being coughed back up. Not to mention the oh so necessary inclusion of Franky and Mojo’s doggy bromance scenes. Those are just things you could simply not put in the movie. And that’s just the surface level stuff that really has no excuse for being there.

 

I still remember when i was 13 and I couldnt understand why they were discussing the "romeo and juliet law" in AOE and I still dont know till this day who greenlit that moment in the script.

 

Honestly, AOE, for all its flaws, would legitimately be so much better if that entire concept wasn't one of them.

Shane is a worthless character, and I don't really care either way for the romance thing, but making her underage was just plain creepy and gratuitously unnecessary.

I think they didn't know the Allspark can do that untill Wheelie told Sam to use it on Jetfire but I know, someone will say that a good writer would have never had that situation happen in the first place

In all seriousness though, they were already well aware of the fact that the shard brought things to life. Sam just got done dealing with all the kitchen gremlins that it created.

 

That and also Megatron conspicuously returned right after the Decepticons stole another Allspark shard from Diego Garcia

Shane should have been killed by Lockdown instead of Lucas. Lucas would've been a much better character lol

 

Do you guys think WJ redesign could just be that the VFX team will add new CGI ears and change his mouth, while keeping the same head and the glasses, because of the time constraint and the movie is out in just 3 months?

Maybe, but judging by how much paramount is terrified of angering the fans, I think a full head change is more likely. If they had the delayed the movie we might even expect the entire body to be redesigned but since the release date is the same, who knows?

 

Could definitely be as simple as that, although my personal hope would be that that we get circular goggles rather than square nerd glasses.

 

It's just three months away, so I guess they will just add new effects rather than changing existing CGI. If I'm going to predict, he will just get his glowing ears.

What I hope for: Another well told period-piece story with good characterization(like Bumblebee,) the usual amazing special effects, and a wholesome, positive message.

What I expect: A jumble of concepts mixed together with multiple story threads that don't have any pay-off, all driven by a McGuffin, and probably some faux-moral pandering/intersectional one-liners in place of actual characterization because Hollywood.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope the young actors and actresses debuting in their first starring roles do a great job and it springboards their careers. I hope there's an Empire Strikes Back level surprise reveal and the Predacons end up being the actual big-bads.
