Could be wrong (wouldn't be surprised) but I heard once that Prowl was supposed to be in 2007 but replaced with Barricade?

 

Seriously, can't they just release the damn Wheeljack CGI render regardless if it's a old design or not?

 

They don't really "show off" designs. All the designs we've seen are through other marketing material (like posters and trailers) or toy packaging. We used to get cool CGI renders that showed off robot designs from Paramount themselves, but they stopped doing that after DOTM. If you see Wheeljack, it'll probably be via indirect means like a new trailer.

And if you're talking about the theater standee specifically, it was likely the new design wasn't ready when that was created. This is assuming we're getting a new design. They're not going to show off an old design purposely.

 

At least let us see a clearer image of the Jada toy package

 

It’s just the mainline toy’s design but with the detail of an actual promo model. Likely having noticeable differences from his film model’s final design. I’d also like to see it in HD though.

 

No offense, but ROTB could ended just like TLK, a flop.

 

That’s my main concern atm. Marketing feels like TLK’s, and it’s competing against the flash and spiderverse movies…

I’m concerned.

 

I think based from the blurry Jada toy, the design will probably be the same but his mouth might look better than the toy.

 

Like many here, I believe the reason they are hiding him is because of the redesign. But I'm also prepared to be disappointed that it's nothing. To be honest, if they only changed his color from brown-white to grey-white with a little green like G1 and gave him a mouth similar to BB without the fins, I can accept him as a pseudo-Wheeljack.

 

Yup, if the movie gets poor reviews, it’s as dead as Cybertron. People will hear the negative word of mouth and save their money for flash, spider-verse, or Indy 5, each being supposedly great films.

 

I really hope its perceived as good. At least even if not , cybertron will be like bee movie and still come out

New Japanese trailer has some extended scenes from the teaser, it's the same what we've seen before but just officially up in good quality.

 

Do these posters feel like they’re straight from the early 2000’s to anyone else?

 

Eh, not really. At least not imo. They just seem like basic character posters to me.

 

Honestly I don't understand the concerns about the box office. Even if I don't think ROTB will make $1B, I don't think any of the other movies in June will. They will most likely cannibalise each other, and neither of them will reach, for example, this billion milestone. No Comic book movie did it since No Way Home, even the ones hyped up with little competition. I think we could end up in a situation where everyone of these movies ends up between 500 and 700 millions, and at that point, we will need to see if Paramount consider it satisfying. But they knew long ago that releasing in June is putting it in a very competitive environment. So either they are very confident the movie will end up being good and attract people, or they don't expect it to do huge numbers.

It's certain that bad reviews would kill the hype and public interest, but at that point, I don't see why that would happen. We are not in a situation like TLK where there was clearly a Transformers (or a Bayverse) fatigue, and the people didn't want to see this movie because the last one was awful in terms of reception, and it was marketed as being the same thing all over again. Even if we can find some similarities between the (supposed) type of plot of ROTB and TLK, the tone of the trailers and the movies will clearly not be the same. People are curious to see another director's take on a transformers movie, especially after the good reviews of Bumblebee, and even if it ends up being bad, it will not be the same type of "bad" as with Bay. The new director, setting and maybe some beast wars nostalgia could be sufficient to incite people to go watch it, to give it a chance.

 

My mind goes to this. NYC backdrop, orange/yellow glow, and close-up of a red titular character.
