Why the fuck are people still arguing about the whole reboot thing when none of us got the answers? We literally have no damn clue if it's a reboot, connected to Bayverse, a soft reboot or whatever the fuck - and it's likely we still won't know after ROTB releases.

Lorenzo thing just proves my point about " you have the highest budget in any product doesn't matter if the people working on it hate the source materiel" look at halo, look at the witcher, and the cybertron trilogy as example sorry if I brought this up again but it seemed relevant to the Lorenzo thing.

I understand his reasoning but personally I just think they're borrowing Bayverse elements and certain aesthetics and that's all there is to it

It's not like being a reboot or not matters, if every other movie after 2007 has had constant retcons to the continuity anyway to a point where the story isn't consistent in thr first place.

I think having a good, consistent story matters, but it's clear those at top don't.

Ugh I hope more ROTB Optimus Primal footage/art comes out soon so someone can make a "There is no need to be upset" (and to a much lesser extent, "That really rustled my jimmies") meme images out of them.

The symbols changing could probably be because either the director or the people involved in the making of ROTB thought that the Bayverse symbols looked cool. Which I won't blame them because the Bayverse symbols do look cool.

Secondly I don't see how Optimus looks similar to his Bayverse counterpart, other than his mouth. The rest of his body is like the BBM design but some panels have been removed making him look thinner (especially at the midsection, where the red panels on the sides have been removed).

Look let's establish a baseline of what the plot is going to most likely be. Scourge, Battletrap, and Nightbird are heralds of Unicron who have been to sent to earth to make the planet easier for him to eat therefore it stands to reason that they will have it out for the other four factions and will try to kill the Autobots, Maximals, Predacons, and Decepticons beacuse they pose a threat to Unicron. I believe the 2024 animated prequel movie will have Megatron as it's main villain then at some point in the middle of this decade a sequel to ROTB will release that will continue these plot threads. However I have no sound prediction of the future of the Transformers movie from the fall of next year onward; I hop this was informative enough to clear up any confusion on these matters.

The "prequel" (Bumblebee) isn't one of the 3 planned movies, and I'm pretty sure the upcoming animated film isn't either. Rise of the Beasts was specifically said to be the 1st movie in a trilogy (it can't be the 1st movie in a trilogy if Bumblebee is the 1st movie in said trilogy) in addition to there being an animated movie as well. Every article that mentions the animated movie mentions it seperately from the ROTB trilogy, so even if it's a prequel and in continuity (like Bumblebee), it's not a part of the trilogy.
‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ to be First of Planned Trilogy

I don't see why it would. We've gotten multiple franchises in the last 20 years that jump around their timeline for releases (Marvel, Star Wars, DC) and people generally don't get confused.

If we can have 3 Batman universes in just this millennium I think we can deal with a single TF reboot

Unless the director is really particular about maintaining that sort of consistency, it doesn't really work like that. Instead the studio has a library of assets they pull from whenever they need stuff like this. Want an Autobot logo for a poster? Someone calls up the art department and one of their graphic designers pulls a 300dpi (or larger) Autobot logo sufficient for printing. Need a Decepticon logo for a prop? They'll pull up a vector graphic that a CNC machine (or other piece of fabricating equipment) can turn into a physical model. The artists tasked with this likely don't know the difference between a classic G1 style logo and a Bayverse one, nor do they probably care.

In short, which style of logo they're using has nothing to do with the film's place in continuity (if it ends up being connected to the Bayverse it will be despite any use of Bayverse style logos) and they're not proof of anything except how art departments typically work.
