This is my review for the Transformers Rise of the Beasts Deluxe Nightbird.

Be Warned, this is a separate Mainline for the movie. It is not Studio Series. Hopefully there will be another one coming in the studio series line.

So back to Nightbird. Here we have the vehicle mode. To be fully honest, I am not that impressed. Not exactly a Nissan that she is suppose to be. For one thing, there is too much brown. Not exactly what she suppose to resemble. Just look at the comparisons with the actual car.

Have a look at the turn around. Still too much brown. One thing I don't like is how the weapon forms the tail.
    DSCN8292.JPG DSCN8293.JPG DSCN8294.JPG DSCN8295.JPG

For size comparisons, Here are a coupe of other Rise of the Beast mainline figures we know like Wheeljack and Airazor.
    DSCN8296.JPG DSCN8297.JPG

And here is a comparison with a studio series figure. To make it interesting, with the other female car, Shatter. Because we never had that many female car bots or cons in the movieverse.
    DSCN8298.JPG

For accessories, The tail of the car turns into weapons. A Sword and a claw that is formed from 2 pieces. Would have been better if we have 2 claws. Doesn't work much if you pegged those 2 pieces in separate arms.

Here we have Nightbird's robot mode. Honestly, The robot mode lacks a little. I feel it's not a real Movieverse character. Just I hoped for more detail, maybe for the shoulder armor, the legs and the torso parts. I'm hoping the Studio series figure is better.
    DSCN8300.JPG DSCN8301.JPG DSCN8302.JPG DSCN8304.JPG

There is not much to say about poseability.
    DSCN8305.JPG DSCN8307.JPG

Even the weapons, there is not much to it.
    DSCN8308.JPG

Here is a comparisons in robot mode with Wheeljack and Airazor. Again Hoping for better Studio Series figures.
    DSCN8309.JPG

Here's comparison with Studio Series Shatter.

So honestly, I don't really recommend this figure. I pretty much want to wait for a better Studio Series figure. Unless you like the figure, I would say go for it, I won't stand in your way. There is just a lot that this figure lacks. Too much Brown, parts that don't show much Movieverse articulation, and the weapons I would hope for something much better. Unless I have to look at the actual design of Nightbird from the movie (which have haven't seen much of yet). So again, I don't think it's great but it will have to do for now for my Terrorcon team. I give this figure a 6 out of 10. Any questions or requests, feel free to ask (But that's only if I have the time and figures).

Nightbird looks pretty cool, I don't like the brown all over her but I'm going to be painting over her car kibble so I don't mind it. Speaking of car kibble the car mode looks more like a BMW, which is nice because that means I'll be using Nightbird as a base for a custom Need For Speed Most Wanted crossover figure.

Meh, the brown here doesn't look the best. I liked it on Airazor and Wheeljack but definitely not on Nightbird. I wish it was closer to the more metallic bronze shade seen in the vehicle mode picture.

Wheeljack will be my next review. I'm just calling it a day now. I've been pretty busy.

Very nice. Also regarding the colors I hope Studio Series will do better, although I do like this one's headsculpt.

I thought I was the only one who hates how the weapon forms the spoiler

Same. The weapon forming the spoiler would be a nice feature if the weapon's handle could fold in and make the spoiler more symmetrical.

    EXACTLY.

The way it is, I hate that it's asymmetrical, and it's obvious it's just sword tacked as spoiler.

I also hate how high the spoiler is. I don't think real life JDM cars have those kind of high spoilers- well maybe they do but the spoiler here just seems very off.

The whole pelvic area looks atrocious, plus the kibble management is just not well done.
    Yeesh.

Well, this figure is actually repulsive

One of the worst looking robot modes in a very, very long time

Between Nightbird, Wheeljack, and the various Airazors, I think the brownish, bronze-ish plastic color is the "Allspark Blue" of the ROTB line.

That's gotta be the worst case of unpaintable plastic "bleeding' into a vehicle mode yet.

When they first revealed the vehicles I thought it was pretty neat how they're adding some much-needed color to the Movieverse. Pretty disappointing how the toys at least are dominated by shades of brown.

The brown is fine on Wheeljack and Airazor, it's just Nightbird that is overly brown hence it makes the colour scheme look terrible.

Small. Super small. Both robot and vehicle modes.
    Big, ugly outside clip-on wheels.
    Convoluted robot mode.
    Mismatched vehicle mode colors.

    All for just 25 bucks!

I honestly don't want to even think of what the "early adopters" pay for these.

I was hoping Nightbird would be better. I always liked the original design, and hoped the movie one would do it justice.
Maybe the SS version will be better, but I won't bet on it.

Yeah, I would suggest waiting for the Studio Series one. It may be even better. I mean look at Airazor.

Sure hope the Studio Series is better. This really doesn't cut it, in either mode.

So far just about everything in the Rise of Beasts lines looks awful to me. Such a shame. long gone are the days of Revenge of the Fallen and Reveal the shield quality. :(

I miss those toys. They were gimmicky but fun figures, hell I still remember I had 2007 Jazz in battle damage deco.
