Died today at home aged 89 - I hope that The Sky at Night will continue to be shown without him - it's still one of the most interesting programmes on tv.
Oh woah, didn't expect that But what a great man he was, Sky at Night was one of my favourite shows, largely influenced by his lovely way of presenting, but I do hope it continues
He had become more of a comedy figure as the years have gone on but it's a real bum that he's gone as people don't often see the proper science he did in the background. They said on the news last night something about how his Moon maps were used by NASA for the Moon landings. I really hope they shoot his ashes into space. Assuming that would've been something he wanted of course.
