RIP to a truly great master of cinematography whose work - THE GODFATHER and MANHATTAN, amongst others - was simple and atmospheric but brought out a truly painterly quality in his films and enhanced their overall quality, actors and writing included.

He was the pioneer of magic hour shooting (shooting at sunset to get a warm golden glow). Many directors, including Michael Bay, ended up copying that style. Thanks for the great visuals Mr Willis.
