Everyday you can learn something.... I've had this mold for years and just today my son noticed there are Autobot insignias molded in God Fire Convoy's arms!!!!

 

I never noticed either! I just checked my old, original release Hasbro version and it is there, too - so it's not something that was added to the Encore version. Excellent find, congratulate your son for me!

 

This show was truly a gem was'nt or?

 

I finished rewatching CR since 2001 and it's....not so great.

It made me laugh a lot, more than RID 2015.

 

I dig the show - or, at least, the US version that was bowdlerized due to 9/11. It's fun, had some more mature themes such as...

***semi-SPOILERS for twenty year old cartoon follow***

...the conflicted bad and good guys (SkyByte and Ultra Magnus), for once gave a reasonable if sad explanation why the Autobots "adopted" a human kid (because Optimus blamed himself for Koji's father being abducted), has a meta/self-aware running gag(?) with a human who finds herself continuously involved in the conflicts and thinks she is going insane (Kelly), tells a complete, self-enclosed story and last but not least, it gave me Scourge/Black Convoy.

I don't have Ai-chan in my collection, so I placed Hatsume Miku since they are both holograms. Curious crossover.

 

RID & Botbots! Part #3 "Why can't we be friends?"

 

So I finally broke down and sourced a Brave Max - the last of the "mass release" CR/RID toys I was missing. I now have either the Hasbro or Takara version of every character, and in some cases where the decos differ drastically, both (ie, Ruination and Baldigus).

Sorry for the crummy pic, but this is a pretty happy/satisfying moment for me and I wanted to share. 19 years ago, I had preordered the Hasbro version of this guy prior to its cancellation, and life/other priorities got in the way when U.S. retailers brought the Takara version over. I've spent the last couple years slowly building the CR/RID collection I started so very long ago (omg I am old), so getting Brave Max is kind of a moment for me.

 

Congratulations! I am still looking for one in my local market. Patience, my best ally.

I've cleaned up and rearranged a little, here's a blurry cell phone pick of the CR/RID display. I love TFs, and there are individual figures I like better than most anything in CR/RID (with the caveat that Black Convoy/Scourge is the greatest TF of all time - OF ALL TIME, Becky!), but overall, CR/RID is the most satisfying part of my collection.

 

Counting tax, shipping, etc I had to drop $420 just to get Baldigus but he is a blast!

 

At First I Don't like it because it was silly but I'm begining to like it but only the Car Robot dub which is now part of the G1 Continuity but there's no explanation which part of the future they orginally came from guess I'll wait for the next takara comic to explain.

 

It's weird. Robots in Disguise is a one off, meanwhile Car Robots is in G1. Different characters, same exact events. It's a fun, yet short ride!
