This episode had a season premiere feel to it. I don't know why they're labeling it as Season 2, honestly lol

So episode starts pretty normally. Nothing has really happened because apparently all of the escapees were imprisoned again and shipped off to Cybertron along with the Alchemor. Fixit mentions the bots travelling to places like Italy, so maybe Bumblebee is showing his team why he likes Earth so much, like it was said on the finale of Decepticon Island pt 2. That's neat, actually.

Strongarm is the only one going "OMG BEE WHAT DID YOU DO ARE YOU INSANE YOU BLEW OUR COVER" and it felt quite weird, to be honest. I mean, don't you trust your leader? How long has he been stressing about maintaining cover (especially with Grimlock)? Do you really think he'd blown it that easily? Please chill.

So we get lots and lots of continuity here. I've been waiting for this for a while and I'm rather pleased. The stock animation felt misplaced, like it was made for a show premiere episode. I guess they just needed to stall time or something. lol Everything seems and feels fine until they find Paralon. I don't mind that they're reusing Scorponok's model because honestly? That was an awesome model. And they get to cut some expenses by simply recoloring and remodeling bits of it too, which is always nice when it comes to this kind of things.

You can tell right away that this Minicon is gonna turn on these Decepticons (and it's not because we've already seen him on packaging arts). Paralon seems desperate to prove himself as a relic hunter. He wants to be known and kinda worshiped. All hail Paralon. Reminds you of someone? Heheh. I don't see why he'd want to simply blow the place up after scavenging. There's nothing there anyway. Maybe he's trying to cover his tracks (which tracks, though)? It just seems like they needed a bigger threat on this episode and just kinda came up with the idea of a bomb. Oh, wait. Maybe Paralon thought he could miss something, so he would blow up the whole place just so no one could find anything.

The whole weaponizer stuff feels odd, really odd. Minicons that turn into weapons, okay. Nothing new here. Giving off energy like that? Interesting. Controlling unconscious bots (or, in Bee's case, fully conscious bots) is creepy to say the least. Maybe this is why these minicons are hiding with the Decepticons. I don't know about you, but I'd freak out if I found out that a minicon had the power to control my body if I wielded it. Anyway, I can feel this has a lot of potential to fail and become something weird, cringe-y and forced (or cliched). I just hope the writers had enough time to come up with something good.

And that is a big weapon. I'm always so confused. Bots had built-in transformable weapons. Why is there a giant handheld weapon just there if (I don't recall it, at least) these kind of weapons were never really shown in Prime? Oh well. Minor details, nothing is gonna die over that, I suppose.

I find it a bit odd how calm Sideswipe is when he's like "oh. maybe my team is dead" but then again he could be hiding it. Also, thinking out loud just so the audience knows what you're thinking.

Grimlock stepping on a mine was something. His reaction was funny and I laughed when he was all drama like "please leave me here to die" and Bee just shoves him to the ground lol

And Bee's diary at the end. Whoo boy, that was cringe material. Good to have a laugh, but cringe material. Good job with this one, lads. I won't forget this scene for a while.

I'm really curious to know what the heck is that ship. It couldn't possibly be from the Alchemor, so it's something new. My guess is that it crash landed on Earth and had all these Decepticons on board or something. I don't know.

They probably work for Starscream. Can't wait until we get a glimpse of him, by the way.

 

Great episode ,but when would the autobots have had the time to seal up the lower levels anyways? They had to leave the base pretty fast last I remembered.

 

I thought the episode was pretty good. The only down points for this episode are:

1. The scene where they all transform and it takes like 5 minutes just to show them off transforming and then about 2 seconds later they're already in robot mode.

2. The security system that the old base apparently had all this time.

3. That one time the Decepticons attacked the base and Bumblebee just hiding in a pile of crap. Only time they got invaded was in episode 8 and 26 of Prime.

4. Grimlock not being able to scan a vehicle's color scheme like everone else.

Other wise I thought it was a pretty good episode.

 

This was a fun episode. I thought I'd skip Paralon and only get Scorpy, but seeing how he is quite a distinct personality and not just a one-episode enemy, I might gonna get him. I wonder if he, and whatever the Quillfire repaint's name is are gonna get TF Adventure toys, seeing as they are in the show too.
Curious whom Buzz-Strike is running from. And I noticed he has no faction insignia.
Loved the jokes and the character interactions, even Drift chukled at that aerobics video from Bee.   And I admit, I did not see that solution to destroy the bomb coming, pretty clever. Nice to see the old base again as well. I take it the city was probably evacuated and abandoned when Megs started terraforming the planet in Prime.

Oh, and love the much improved transformations. Even Strongarm finally transforms like her toy, only Sideswipe is still "cheating".  

I forgot, what is Bee referring to when he said at one time Cons "got one of our own under their control" and infiltrated the base? I can only recall when Makeshift replaced Wheeljack.

EDIT: I didn't find any official thread on the new forum options, but I now see they added a "like" button... Ugh. That was the beginning of the end of civil discussion for Allspark too, 'cause while you cannot dislike a post, you sure can like a post dissing someone else. After a while, I really got fed up with that... Just sayin', sorry for the off-topicness.

 

I for one quite liked her. Of her three media portrayals (IDW, CW machinima and RID) the last one was easily the most enjoyable (and one who did not made me hate the character). I loved her interactions with Sideswipe ("Slick") and Strongarm. I hope we will see her, Ratchet and Prime and what they are doing on Cybertron.

It was shown in episode 13, they said their farewells too.

But.... why???   Just make a "junk email" account that you will never check ever, on say, yahoomail or some other place, and then register an account with that, not your main email account. I myself use a freemail account for this purpose, I also leave it as my go-to email to register with on places which send me a lot of spam. Why'd you delete your account afterwards? They will be uploading the upcoming episodes on Mega too (just posted it myself on the RID Torrents topic) - honestly Kametsu is the best place to look for cartoon downloads.

 

Thank you preceptor mc for linking the video to the site. This was a fun episode to watch. Paralon was an ok villain to me in this episode though I hope he will be able to see the incoming betrayal from his Minicon partner soon so it won't be just a cliché turnaround. While I am ok with him having the same model as Scorponok he could have some more different distinctions to his look.

Does anyone know why Grimlock doesn't have the same abilities that his teammates have with the whole color transformation thing?

 

No, it wasn't revealed to us and quite frankly I don't think it ever will be. Maybe it has to do with the fact that he turns into a dinosaur and cannot scan other alt modes, so he can't scan other color schemes. Optimus said they could scan a vehicle and only use one of its properties, so if a bot can't scan vehicles at all, it cannot scan different color schemes.

 

This was an interesting episode and it was nice to see them actual go back to the old base. One thing that always bugged me throughout the episode was that I really wished they could have maybe showed Jack,Raf, Miko, or even Agent Fowler cause it would have been cool for Bumblebee to show them to the new team. Another thing is that it would have been cool to see one of the older Autobots to show up even though Ratchet already showed up prior.

 

I'm gonna say Starscream.

Great start to the season/second half...whatever.

I was really surprised that Paralon was voiced by Jason Spisak, he sounds like almost unrecognizable in the role, sounding more like Keith Silverstein's Eulric.

Buzzstrike is totally going to defect, the toy says he's an Autobot. lol

also getting real sick of your shit Sideswipe, though he learned a lesson so I can't hate him 100% this time.

also the ending with Bumblebee's diary.

Grrrrrrrrr... looks like I waited too long, Hasbro has shut down all the vids.
Had it up a couple of days ago to watch, then had to work, snap. 

 

Okay took me a while but I finally watched the episode and it does feel like a season opener so I will address this episode as Episode 1 of Season 3.

Okay so the episode was pretty decent. I admit I felt a little nostalgic for the Prime series when they went to the old base but at the same time a little disappointed that they didn't really do any callbacks to certain moments and instead made up their own. Kind of makes them going back to the base feel pretty pointless in a way. As for the characters they were handled pretty well, and by pretty well and mean decent. They just didn't quite stand out to me except for Grimlock and Strongarm's interactions when they both thought he had stepped on a mine, now that admittedly was a funny and enjoyable moment. Though I do admit I raised a brow at Srongarm's freakout, I understand she's cautious but that was taking it overboard. Paralon seems very bland to me, his ultimate goal is to hunt treasure... why do I get the feeling we already have a Decepticon like that. As for Buzzstrike, he intrigues me especially with his morality and his strange ability to take control of any Transformer. His design also reminds me much of Rodimus'. As for the animation and fight scenes, it was decent but nothing spectacular or jaw-dropping but at least they kept me entertained. Finally the ending moment with Bumblebee's Diary... my immediate reaction was to jerk back from the screen exclaiming "What the heck?!," followed by me laughing awkwardly because I wasn't sure how else to respond. I never want to see Bumblebee in legwarmers again.

So with that said I give this episode a 7.0. It's a decent start but it could have been better.

 

So, rewatching the episode and I noticed that when the bots are racing toward Omega Outpost One reminds me of the very beginning of the intro to Transformers Prime. (I hope I'm explaining that right.)
