Here is an oldie, but still a good one. I made this back in the days of R.I.D. I posted back in the day as well, but I wanted to share some better pictures of this one. This one done in my pre-dremel days, so everything was hand sanded which was a pain. It started out as a RID X-Brawn I sculpted the chest with Squadron White Putty. And restyled the alt mode into a Ford Escape. The head is from a RID Wedge with some minor mods. I also smoothed over the right fist, and made a removable fist for his right arm to make his arms looks a little more in proportion with each other.
nice work. RID was the first true TF show i watched start to finish. It's nice to see the figures still around.
Thanks... I thinned down some flat black paint and brushed over the detailed areas, then wiped off the excess paint.
nice to see some rid customs really i had this guy and i really liked it, and you made it more awesome than ever
Looks awesome. I feel like I did might have seen this back in the day when you first posted it. Really like the remolded head and that, even though they are oddly proportioned, the arms look a lot better this way.
Oooh this is real close to what i was thinking of doing to mine, but I think you went much more g1 with yours than I planned to. Great to see what that would look like and you sure did a hell of a job. Very cool. I just wish something could be done about that arm...
I remember this one back in the good ole days when Transtopia was still a real thing. Ironhide was awesome back then and he still is today.
I was taking some more pictures of my Ironhide, and I for the life of my can't remember where I put the original hand that I made for him. So I made a couple more detachable fist, a regular size hand and a mega punch hand.
I remember those days fondly. It was all the cool customs there that really got me into kitbashing in the first place
I was looking through some kitbashing parts and I found a Universe Powerglide gun with a little modding and paint I thought would make for a cool mini-gun for Ironhide.
Yeah, great work! And it's actually a lovely mold; not too hard to transform, and with a glorious hammerhand!
Thanks guys This was one of my favorite customs for a long time. I hated to let it go, but I sold it a few years ago to help with some bills at the time. It's now in the hands of a fellow TF fan in Australia, and he really loved it.
Ah man, I understand completely. But there is hope, the future always has room for revisiting past projects...wink wink! Seeing this again reminds me of how far TFs in general have come with their engineering and designs, but even with the clumsy feel, that RiD generation was definitely an evolutionary step to what we have today.
