What a crazy episode. My wife and I lost it during the climax with Jesus showing up. So many, many washboard abs (I'll refrain from using the other term they used to describe them). I think Dan and Justin were looking for a fun excuse to address and get all of those dumb fan theories/expectations out of the way, especially with Tammy, Phoenix Person, and Evil Morty involved (Mr. Poopybutthole as a Darth Sidious type was funny too). It was basically them just going to the fans, sarcastically exclaiming, "Is this what you want, huh?! Are you not entertained?!!!"
I think this is one of the better episodes, though it does feel like it's a... homage, to the short film, 1 minute time machine. Though that could just be a coincidental idea, that happens too.
That episode got dark, fast in an existential crisis sorta way. All so Rick could end up teaching Morty a lesson, not in the value of life choices and consequences, but a big fat "I told you so" and to love and never question the vat.
When the gangster hung around the vat, i thought the whole episode would just be the gangster talking with R&M having to wait it out at the bottom.
That would have been like the old space ghost episode "Fire ant." Space Ghost is supposed to be talking to Conan O'Brian, but he gets bit by a fire ant, then spends a while obsessed about the ant and completely forgets about Conan, then threatens to follow the ant home to murder its entire family. This goes on for around 10 minutes of the voice actor just humming to himself while space ghost walks around following an ant....leading up to the pretty funny conclusion. It went on so long that they later released a shorter cut of the episode with less wandering.
There was an episode of Sealab 2021 that was more or less a static shot of the Sealab with the power out while the crew discussed what was going on. Eight minutes was just a single shot. or something like this from Milo Murphy's Law
Yeah I think that was either the episodes Blackout or fusebox. Which had many of the same writers from space Ghost. They would later do Frisky Dingo and later go on to do Archer.
A friend sent me this pic. I have no idea if it's accurate or not. But Rick and Morty sure got repped.
Thought it was a pretty good episode. I sometimes wonder if the product placement people realize how their product is going to be placed or if they know and however reluctantly, agree to it.
Thought the entire point was he didn't know which one was actually the clone going as far as erasing his memories and playing the cup game with them so he'd have no idea. he decided to clone Beth but he choose to somehow dodge the answer to the choice that Beth wanted him to make by making sure he wouldn't know which one was his daughter and the clone. He was avoiding responsiblity again.
Rick and the family don't know, but it has been confirmed by the Pocket Mortys game that Space Beth is the clone. Think of it like this we know how much Rick has sabotaging the families development, but they won't.
