?

Would you be interested in this design if it would get turned into a full figure?

So this Fort Max design is making the rounds after the designer, Rick Akker, decided to throw up a few concepts he made on Twitter. Apparently he presented this to MMC, but they didn't go for the design because they thought there wasn't enough interest as PE Warden exists. He's the same guy that designed that MIA Guzzle that MMC teased a few times.

I'm posting it here to see if there is interest in another IDW Max. Maybe that would convince someone into picking up the design? The concept has it around MMC Carnifex height and can it can transform into a somewhat comic accurate "battle platform" vehicle based on the few panels from the comic that it appears in. Plus these engineering touches in the knees and abs look slick. As someone that owns Warden and loves him, he's just not nearly big enough to go with the other IDW style figures and his vehicle mode is in the afterthought territory. Something like this is entirely on my radar.

the way the ab crunch works is pretty cool.

I also likes he turns into a Vehicle rather than a head.

I also like that he's a larger figure. I shame it was only offered to MMC though which means 0 diecast would be used.

To Me this figure needs some diecast. Why not offer it to somebody else like Fanstoys?

MMC put diecast in Inventa Magna. And Carnifex seems fine without it.

But I haven't seen Fanstoys do any non-G1-MP toys like this, so it doesn't especially seem in their wheelhouse.

There's some discussion of this design in another thread: What figs would you like to see MMC do next from the IDW comics?, where someone suggests Planet X as another home.

I've been drooling over this all day on the Twatters and shared some pics on the UK Thread already so I'm glad it has its own thread now.

I would imagine MMCs schedule is pretty tight with big ol' bots over the next year, what with Dai Atlas, two DJD bruisers and several as-yet-unnanounced projects already on the books, so I can see why they turned it down, BUT I really do hope someone else picks this up and doesn't change the aesthetic because I NEED IT.

Planet X are in the IDW game now too, so there's an option.

I would love to see this produced. The engineering is very 'Sentinel' though, which 3rd parties generally don't normally get close to. I'm not sure who I'd trust to do this amazing design justice.

I dig it more than Warden, but I'm not sure I have room in my collection for it.

It is pretty amazing, definitely fits in with a lost light crew, and looks like it matches up better with other versions of overlord.

Gotta mention the vehicle mode looks just as good as the bot mode, usually alt mode is quite secondary to robit form :D

Diecast on larger figures usually causes more problems than its worth so I say leave it. Additional heft is not worth joint tolerance issues, paint mismatching and paint chipping in my opinion.

Yeah I really do like the vehicle mode. I'm not sure how accurate most of it is, but it looks the part from the front. I really don't care that much because it looks awesome and entirely cohesive as its own thing. I guess I'm so used with Warden being the stand in for me that I just don't imagine him in a vehicle mode.

I'd buy it and I have PE Warden. Has a cool alt mode and the size is good.

MMC was crazy to pass on this design. Also, I thought his Guzzle was much better than the one they're actually producing. Warden looks over-engineered, transforms into nothing, takes forever to get there, and is not nearly big enough. I'm sure Warden was great for his time, but this is just perfect.

I’d buy it. Warden isn’t really doing it for me anymore, been thinking about selling it.

    This one looks superb, though.

I would definitely consider it, I just bought PE Warden but this dude hits a lot more notes I think.
