So did the Dire Wraiths kill Big Ben's team with Ore-13 crystals?

    Ugh

IDW\'s habit of unbearable humans extends even to GI Joe.

Is it OK for them to use \"boll@cks\" and \"s@d it\" in a comic?  Isn\'t it meant to be suitable for kids, too?  Do the American characters in these IDW comics say \"sh1t\" and other \"pg/15\" rated language?

Man, I just cannot summon any interest in this crossover, and I've read every IDW Transformers comic.

I don't know if that says more about me, or the upcoming series.

Oh no, The American comic doesn't adhere to the Queen's Standards! How horrifying! Who cares?

1/ The comic is made in the USA and sold in multiple territories. It's not "American" in that regard, and is actually a global product.

2/ I wasn't actually condemning American standards, nor insisting upon British ones, either. I simply asked if this comic was aimed at children. If not, then it's perfectly understandable why British curse words were used, and I was curious if previous IDW TF comics have used American curse words of a similar level for American characters (such as "@ss", " @sshole", etc).

If, however, the comics are aimed at, or include young children, then is it appropriate to use vulgar terms, such as "b@llocks" in such media?

American media has a long and proud of having English characters spout off our UK swear words every other sentence, since they aren't offensive to the US audience but make the dialogue 'seem English'.

And frankly, 'sod' really isn't particularly strong at all, and even 'bollocks' isn't that bad. TV could definitely get away with the former and probably the latter before the watershed, so their use in a comic isn't especially egregious.

This preview isn't doing anything for me... If this whole crossover is going to be angry humans yelling "Transformers are evil!" and being jerks, then count me out of it....

(It probably doesn't help that the only properties in this i care about are Transformers and M.A.S.K.)

I think it's mostly going to be Dire Wraiths disguised as humans telling humans "Transformers are evil!" while the heroes try to stop them.......
And the Scavengers are going to be in there somewhere.

These comics are essentially PG affairs, despite the robo-violence the actual swearing is still kept to a minimum, but they're allowed to get away with it occasionally, like Skids calling Getaway a bastard in MTMTE #50.
As for 'sod it' and 'bollocks' as "swear words", they're no more severe than 'screw it' (calling someone a sod is like calling them a jerk) and 'crap/dammit' respectively.

Cheers. I am British myself, so I understand their meaning. I just wouldn't expect to see them printed in a Marvel UK TF story. I know Spike said " sh1t" in the original animated film, but I was curious about IDW's standards for content vs age.

Perhaps a new thread could be created, showing scans of all the panels where suggestions swore in a TF comic, or video links to it in cartoons?
