Hey there. I'm new here and I'd like to ask you guys something...

I really want to see a revival of the Revoltech Transformers toys (the classics, not just the Bayformers ones) with re-releases of the originals and new ones of characters like Soundwave, Jazz, Shockwave, Optimus Primal and ect. Problem is, I'm not sure what to do to make this desire come to life. Should I do a petition, start a twitter campaign, or what? Please, help give me some ideas.

First of all welcome to TFW.

Commission custom ones to be made. It'll be pricey, but it's only way this will happen.

It's a shame that Soundwave didn't get the Revoltech treatment. When you factor in all of the extras these figures typically come with, coupled with the amount of articulation, Soundwave would've been a perfect entry for the Revoltech line. But what surprises me is that Kaiyodo didn't offer up Skywarp/Thundercracker repaints of the Starscream sculpt. And I know they're not averse to using the same sculpts more than once if their Macross Valkyries (albeit with some retooling) are any indication.

Soundwave would be perfect. Unlike Megatron, he'd actually deserve some decent accessories. 2 guns at least, open tape deck effect, cassette (on in robot mode, one in cassette), and (this is important), cassette deck Soundwave.

Seriously, I think all gun-mode TFs and cassette deck TFs should come with in-scale versions of their alt-modes to give to other TFs. It would be awesome.

Great idea, that would be so awesome! I love the little Megatron gun that Revoltech Starscream comes with, it really adds to the figure. A tiny tape deck Soundwave would be rocking too.

i think there was a wonderfest soundwave kit that was released, if im not mistaken. looked pretty awesome and fit the aesthetic of the others iirc

EDIT: cant find any images via google aside from soundblaster kit, but hes just a different paint scheme away. it looks like there were a few others including an ultra magnus armor upgrade, and shockwave. mind that these are licensed transformers products as a one day license is given during wonderfest when these guys are initially sold to the public.

Pretty sure the WonderFest kit was Shockwave.

I'd like to see these as well, but it's not likely as it's Kaiyodo making these and there is obviously hang-ups between what Kaiyodo wants to do and what licenses/likenesses TakaraTomy allows them to use and all that. What we've gotten so far are pretty signature characters in the mythos, though I do think Soundwave fits the bill in that aspect.

Kind of surprised as well that there's no Skywarp and Thundercracker redecoes, but then again, this is Kaiyodo we're talking about and not TakaraTomy. TakaraTomy would have made it some convention exclusive.

I thought so too, then I googled it. Apparently there was a Soundwave as well.

Okay, screw it. I'm going into petition mode! It may be so many tilting at windmills, but I'm going in hoping against it all that my nerdy desire can bring about something that will bring some people joy. But first things first: can anyone tell me which companies I have to petition?

    Kaiyodo and TakaraTomy.

Good luck... I really don't see them being swayed by demand of American buyers in the slightest.

It's a cool idea, I hope at some point in the future Kaiyodo do release more TF characters. I have their versions of Starscream and Megatron.

I'd rather see Revoltech Transformers that actually transform...

I'm still open to any other idea to make it happen.

That'd be cool, but wouldn't that make them as expensive as the Masterpiece line?

True, but that's not the gimmick associated with Revoltech.
