hello guys! my first time posting here at tfw! sharing my custom Revoltech Soundwave that i made out of a Revoltech Hotrodimus. Revoltech as we know it are known for being a solid, highly articulated toys. They made a nice robot replica of iconic G1 characters, OP and Megs, then a repaint of Ultra Magnus, ending with Starscream and Hotrod(Rodimus). Nothing followed after. I was hoping they would do Soundwave since they got most of the mold but naah. so here i am, being another sw-fan, left with no choice. ------------ what i don't like about the right grip hand. angled and swayed much. i'll give it a fix like the left grip hand. so when wielding the gun, it will be straight and forward. the problematic right grip hand. sawed off the original port and leveled straight. sealed with tamiya putty. i cannot say it is "properly" finished because i still don't have a decepticon logo to put on his chest so pardon the few pictures. go Timber! Autobot Detected! i still need to improve a lot on handbrushing. there are bleeds and chips showing up that i have to fix again and again. overall, this build is not a bad experience. when i get a decent decepticon decal, i will post updated pictures and action poses. i hope to learn a lot more about customizing from our masters here! thanks for looking!
Epic so you can send him to me now. I always wanted a revoltech soundwave. I love it keep up the fantastic work
wow! looks really great! looks like a factory job to tell the truth, in a good way of course. couple things regarding the paint job: masking tape is your friend! also, to protect your paint pick up Pledge floor wax with Future (easily found at Wal-Mart). it will put a durable (invisible!) finish on the piece and prevent flaking and other damage! about the symbol, do you want to use a reprolabels sticker, or create a 3 dimensional logo on him somewhere? i think you could even leave it off, everyone knows who Soundwave is and his allegiance!
thanks guys! i'm glad you like it! me too! up to now, i'm still wondering of other alt modes but g1 cassette player is still better! thanks! waaah! i can't send! this one has sentimental value thanks for the tips! masking tape i have to do it properly next time. my friend lend me some Pledge and told me the same thing! for the symbol, repro here in our country is hard to find, and if ever there are stocks, it gets wiped in an instant maybe i will try stickers or decal. thanks again! thanks! roddy sat down and pose a lot on my display for 2 years before i did this one ya. and he saw your big devy too! thank you! i felt it's really sad that Soundwave don't get much love from figures so i had to make my own version. i have much to learn from our masters here so i will do my best in my next project! thanks for looking!
G1 Soundwave and Revoltech: two great tastes that taste great together! Nothing deserves to be this cool.......
