Here is a big commission from a gentleman who wanted ALL of Soundwaves minions to accompany his Wonderfest Exclusive Revoltech Soundwave. These are all really small, and have some minimal articulation. All completely scratch built. Rumble and Frenzy are the most involved, having interchangable arms/piledrivers, and a magnet in one of their weapons that attaches to embedded bolts on their arms and backs. Ravage can be posed with all four feet on the ground, or in his running pose. I made stands with clear acrylic rods for all of the figures, since I wanted to give them a nice display option. The same customer also wanted a "Coronation" set to go with his Revoltech Starscream, so I whipped up one of those. The cape is removable and attaches with magnets. I scratchbuilt an Energon Axe for Revoltech Prime too, but can't take credit for the Energon mace for Megs. That piece came from a SCF pvc figure of him. Enjoy the pics! Frenzy and Buzzsaw (paint based on cartoon continuity) Showing weapon "magnet" to hand Rumble and Lazerbeak with Piledrivers Ratbat and Ravage Beastbox and Squawktalk ..and their combined mode: Squawkbox Slugfest and Overkill Starscream Coronation Armor Ops and Megs Energy Weapons.
The cassette minions ROCKS ALL KINDS OF SOCKS!! The amount of work put into each and every one of those little guys is admirable.
That is amazing for being scratch built! I like most of them, but that SquawlkBox is astounding! Two thumbs up
i think you need to post anouther picture if you can to show people how small these really are. the only sense of scale i get is the bases are the GIjoe dog tag one correct? they look pretty damn amazing, excellent work. I'd love to see these around the soundwave when your client gets them. maybe you can convinve him to take a pic and let you post it? I would love to see it. i've been wanting to make all of soundwaves minons as well, but can't decide on what scaleto go with. Great work. Randy!
*giggle* No, they don't. Just like the rest of the Revoltech figures. Thanks! This the closest to a comp pic I have right now. For those that don't own a Revoltech figure: They run about 5 inches tall, so that makes each of these guys about 2 to 2 and a half inches tall. My camera's macro setting was having a hard time focusing on them: I plan on asking the customer if he would shoot me a pic of them all around his Soundwave. I would love to see that!
Those are incredible! I do gotta ask: who's the purple con? CAnt remember him. Really nice sculpted and colored!!
I really like the Dino tapes, maybe I will have to try these for myself, they look so cool in Dino Mode, who needs tape mode for display, when you got robot dinosaurs with guns.
Those are just FABULOUS! Of course I'm obsessed with both tiny-scale things and cassette-bots, so I'm biased
