Fairly sure this came out about 12 years ago.
Is it even updated at all? Looks the same to me.
Here’s the old one
Damn this looks nice. Like a discount flame toys figure.
Loving the stylized design this time around.
Fool me 5 times, shame on me. The revoltech transformers have been really disappointing besides the paint schemes.
The Amazing Yamaguchi line is really good. I never bought their older transformers but the newer Marvel figures are great.
Interesting. I just got AY Batman a little while ago. It's the first higher end figure that I've bought that wasn't a Transformer. Definitely different from what I'm used to. I thought about getting Deathstroke too as I actually had an old copy of New Teen Titans #2 years ago, but I'd rather get this instead.
Damn, that Deathstroke looks nice though. If it turns out I still have that comic I might get him anyway.
The chest windows are definitely improved on the updated model. That ridiculous Pat Lee thing has ship's port holes for a windshield, imagine the massive blind spot he'd have in vehicle mode. Maybe he should have used the company money to buy a Freightliner for reference instead of sports cars.
Give me a billion repaints.
Though, I am not sure if Revoltech has done repaints in any form as of late. There was Eva 03/04. Even the 2006-13 repaints were distribution specific exclusives such as Lawson, Friendshop or Wonderfes.
I'm in the same boat, never bought a Revo Transformer before but the recent Marvel and DC stuff is just so fun to pose. This Prime could make for a great desk toy.
Jesus Murphy, I'd rather wait for the Flame Toys model.
Hey, that's quite nice looking! I appreciate the overall cohesion of the design as opposed to the more segmented designs of the superhero figures.
It may be that they\'ve changed their joint system, but the old revoltech tfs were not fun: just really counter intuitive to move and pose.
I... didn't know I needed this. Looks awesome and the poses it pulls off is truly. If you pardon me. AMAZING. You know I had to do it. If it's 80 USD I'll pick one up, sure, why not. Love these proportions.
I own a few Revoltechs. They've definitely got some serious issues. If this were around half the cost, 3500 yen, I'd be interested, but 7500 is too much
This makes me very happy. I’ve been doubtful about Amazing Yamaguchi for quite some time, I was very interested in the idea of stylized comic characters with amazing articulation, but the joints they used always irked me.
I finally gave Deadpool a chance last year after he has been reissued for like the third time, regretted my pre-order all the way to release, but once I got him in-hand…. it changed everything. These are the kinds of figures you can’t put down, they are too much fun. The articulation is fantastic, and while these figures can look goofy if you want them to they can also do the exact opposite. Once you think you have found the perfect pose you start fiddling with the figure again and just find even better ones by accident.
It’s the best kind of toy to have on your desk and just mess around with while you watch a video or something. Then you start pausing said video because handling the figure turns out to be more interesting
This Prime will be pre-ordered the day he goes live. Can’t wait to have him.
If you say Revoltech do you mean the old ones or Amazing Yamaguchi? Because the latter are pretty awesome and definitely worth their price IMO.
YES! a nice, detailed Optimus Prime action figure. Super 7 can keep their offerings.
I'm not a big fan of Revoltech joints myself, even though I do like the figures that I have bought.
Same here. There seem to be quite a few Marvel figures in this line now. Hopefully, it's the same with Transformers.
So how big are these Revoltech figures usually? I heard they're pretty good but their over-use of Revoltech joints were questionable at times. I'd be happy if he's around 20 cm.
I feel like maybe a shockwave would be really nice. And perhaps also mirage and galvatron II.
