It's here. The Age of Extinction is upon us. The premiere is in a day and a half, and after that there's only a week left. Think about it. Transformers AOE comes out a week from this Friday. It's so hard to believe. I remember when Bay first posted the pictures of all the cars, and everyone thought the Argosy was Motormaster, and that the Rusty Cab was Nemesis Prime or Grimlock, oh lord how time flies. I remember how excited I was when I first saw the Big Game Spot. I have decided to take a look back and watch the Big Game Spot just for fun. Dear god it looks like crap, I can understand why everyone was hating on the CGI then. That was four months ago... look how far we have come, we have a new spot every other day now. The Lockdown scene looks a lot duller/less colorful, like it got put through a filter. Optimus's facial features have drastically changed. They used the old font? Galvatron is a lot more grey and dull, while now, from the little we have seen of him he looks to be a lot more along the colors of black and blue/purple, I really like him better now. No ship above Cade when he punches the ground, and overall the spot has a very dull feel to it. oh god how the CGI has changed.

Tell me about it man.... Ahh those were the good ol days. I remember when I first saw the big game spot. I was in the family room with my mom watching the game, when suddenly I see a robot (later on confirmed to be Lockdown lol) walking down the road. At first, I thought it was something else, but then I saw Tessa, and I knew it was Age of Extinction instantly. Boy, that was one heck of a night. Now I must take off from this site until next Thursday. I will be here tomorrow to say my farewells. Until then, transform and roll out! :D

To be honest, I never knew anything about Transformers 4 until they announced they had a Superbowl tv spot and I was so hyped up that I never knew who were the characters and I noticed that they put in the Dinobots and I was like oh shit oh shit oh shit Optimus is riding on Grimlock and that got me so excited and they annouced the teaser trailer I was more hyped and then the payoff trailer and tv spots got me even more hyped up that I wanted to explode so one more week until extinction.

That was a fun ride, I have to admit. The CGI was definitely lacking in retrospect, but I loved the concept-artish feel of some of the shots, especially our very first look at Lockdown and his gunface. While I did remember seeing that toy store decoration of Optimus riding Grimlock a while before the Superbowl spot, witnessing that first charge through the gate gave me shivers. I didn't like was the supposed lack of a strong marketing push here in the States, although that may be because I haven't watched that much TV for so long. The marketing just feels so subdued so I fear that Transformers is getting a lukewarm response in the US at best.

Regardless, I cannot wait to see this movie.

Agree. The CGI in the spot is so different than the new ones.

I remember being soooooo anxious to see the Super Bowl spot that I thought I was going to explode (no pun intended, lol). I was so excited to see it that when it finally popped up on TV I had no idea WTF I was looking at. :lol  Then I rewatched it online and was like "HOLY PRIMUS ON A POGO STICK"
