Well, I'm sure I'm not the only one that has looked at the reviews for the hotel. Just a few that I want to pass on that have stay in my head. If you read anything good or bad about the place, then add it to the post

" When I walked into my hotel room, it felt like I just walked a bad porn film from the 70's"

" Was I walked in you could tell that this room need help, 40 something year old carpet, and furniture that I would see at my grandmothers house"

" Rude and non English speaking maids"

" Grounds of hotel are large, felt like we walked a mile each way to and from the room to convention area. Would of been nice to have a golf cart or an atv to get around the grounds.

Ive asked the Pete here and the club via face book regarding this, everything ive seen online say that the gounds are nice but the hotel is really out dated and I got no reply from anyone. I am wondering if they actually went and checked out the hotel, every year that ive been to botcon we have had a nice place to stay for $129 a night and this year it looks like were staying at an old folks home and the price is more expensive. I have read that they have upgraded their rooms or in the processing of doing so. The professional room photos look ok but the ones taken by guests paint a different picture. I have started looking for a different hotel.

Alternate hotels in the area will be no issue - there's a reason this is Hotel Circle, it's basically THE central concentration of lodging in the area. However, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. I will note that open layouts like this for hotels, malls, schools, and the like, are not uncommon in San Diego, though more traditional hotels are easy to find too.
