This is a review of the most anticipated Revoltech of the year, Optimus Prime from the movie Transformers : Dark of the Moon. The figure will be released in late September, the one I am holding on to right now is the prototype. I will not be too sure whether if It'll be the same as the mass market one.

    Accessories:

Doesn't really comes with a lot of accessories other than the random guns and 2 sets of hands. I am kinda disappointed that they didn't included the sword and shield that Optimus welded during the first battle with Shockwave.

Some of the weapons, like this for an instance. Have holes on the side of them, which allows you to attach the other weapons to form a massive blaster. All the guns will come with a peg for you so that you don't have to worry about not having enough.

    Details:

Wow, just now. The paint application here is just wonderful, it is exactly what we have seen so far. A clean metallic finish with all the flames neatly tampered. The sculpt is just amazing, it just seems that nothing have been left unsculpted. The reason why this is named as "Optimus Prime - Dark of the Moon" version is because of the stomach area. If you compare Optimus Prime of the DOTM version to the previous 2, you can tell that the new one has a new ab. That is how you differentiate them I suppose.

    Articulation and Posability:

As everyone knows, the latest Revoltechs have a lot more joints than the past releases which features swivel joints. Optimus Prime here has 19 points of articulation, and these many joints for a 130mm figure is simply amazing.

i might pick this up if i can find it locally for a decent price. looks fairly decent
    on a side note:
is it just me or do all revlotech toys have a "jutting crotch" syndrome. ive never bought or owned one so this is just an observation based on what i have seen of them in pictures

You still didn't really show off any real dynamic posing.

Until I see just how great he can be posed, I'll have to pass on him.

    i know!

this is the only thing wrong with this figure!

woulda loved to have seen them include the shield, like mentioned, and even the energon axe he uses at the end!

not really a fan of those "guns" this toy has

HNNG..... desire for the DMK growing xD

This is the prototype as it is extremely loose, the mass market one will have tighter joints which allows dynamic posing. You'll be amazed how posable revoltechs are. :thumbs2:

So you'll have to buy 2! :lol

Those are revolver joints which are unique to the Revoltech line.

This is my only nitpick with the figure so far...I'm still surprised they went with a "gimmicky" bit with the guns that feels better suited for a toy from the actual DotM line than a Revoltech. I would've preferred his two blasters from the previous films, two swords, and some of the axe/shield stuff from DotM.

That said, it still looks awesome and I look forward to it. Very cool and a nice alternative to the Dual Model Kit.

If this is near to the other 5 tf Revoltech's it's worth picking up even if you are on the fence. The price of these things usually blows up on the secondary market.

Let's see.... 1) re: head - that's your opinion, 2) re: torso - again, that's your opinion, and 3) those are revolver joints because *surprise* this is a Revoltech figure! If you were familiar with the Revoltech line of figures you would know that. Don't knock 'em til you tried 'em, man. They're surprisingly poseable - and very fun - figures to mess around with!

Hmm, I have this guy on pre-order at BBTS and this is making me rethink about keeping it pre-ordered. I too wish they would have given us the sword and shield or at least two swords since he seems to wield two in the movie. Oh well you can't have everything when it comes to Transformers.

You're right it is my opinion, I've got plenty of other OPs to keep myself occupied with
